Why we get subpar games at launch

They don’t hire game testers like back in the day.

WE (the players), are the game testers now… The released games we get are mostly unfinished products.

Basically: The game comes out, we play the hell out of it and ‘‘test’’ it. They fix the major issues we don’t like and sell it back to us in form of an expansion.

Rince and repeat = profit.

Again, am i better than everyone else?

I don’t know about hiring beta testers… I beta tested for darkage of Camelot SI, got a free copy of the expansion.

Why pay for testers when you can get the testers to pay you.

Blizzard has testers. The devs just ignore all their feedback.

The only time the blizzard devs will fight for their visions is when something is offensive and they want to censor it.

What I meant was, compared to back in the day that number is very low, because WE get to pay to test the game, so should they hire a huge amount of testers

I don’t think it’s a matter of quantity. They just rushed the game out.

They had to make that edgy 6/6/23 release date.

You are unquestionably smarter than me. The shame this causes me will prevent any impulse to return to this thread. Godspeed sir.

We are all in the same boat here OP. There’s plenty of rage about the game on the forum. They already have our money.

You should try to focus your energy + posts on what you think should be changed, why, and how to change it for the better.

This kind of thread your started isn’t helpful.

I don’t question whether I’m smarter than other people. I know.

Usually, it is the AAA studios releasing games in that state. Indie game devs generally release games in that state as early access, years before the official release. Same with studios that still have a sense of passion…like Larion Studios. It is the big AAA studios who have to bend the knee to their investors who continue to do this…and we get suckered in every time…lmao

Long story short, yes.

Lol. Remember back when beta testing was actually seen as a service to the game and not a promotion they charge people for? Ah the good ol days

It’s ok I have that effect on many peoples

Larian is a rare gem. Even a lot of the indie studios are no better. Games like AOC are basically vaporware and there have been plenty of indie misses in recent years (wildstar for example)

I agree, but I have never bought an indie game with high expectations. Come to think of it, I have not bought an AAA game in recent years with high expectations either. LOL!

I know it’s not useful, I’m just bored and I have no game to play since the endgame is complete dog poopoo :frowning:

It’s better for me to release a little bit of steam this way, then to try to improve the game for blizzard since I don’t know a single thing about game making :frowning:

they dont have testers they have advertisers

What you think they meant by live service? We are giving the service when the game goes live, duh.
