They don’t hire game testers like back in the day.
WE (the players), are the game testers now… The released games we get are mostly unfinished products.
Basically: The game comes out, we play the hell out of it and ‘‘test’’ it. They fix the major issues we don’t like and sell it back to us in form of an expansion.
What I meant was, compared to back in the day that number is very low, because WE get to pay to test the game, so should they hire a huge amount of testers
Usually, it is the AAA studios releasing games in that state. Indie game devs generally release games in that state as early access, years before the official release. Same with studios that still have a sense of passion…like Larion Studios. It is the big AAA studios who have to bend the knee to their investors who continue to do this…and we get suckered in every time…lmao
Larian is a rare gem. Even a lot of the indie studios are no better. Games like AOC are basically vaporware and there have been plenty of indie misses in recent years (wildstar for example)
I agree, but I have never bought an indie game with high expectations. Come to think of it, I have not bought an AAA game in recent years with high expectations either. LOL!
I know it’s not useful, I’m just bored and I have no game to play since the endgame is complete dog poopoo
It’s better for me to release a little bit of steam this way, then to try to improve the game for blizzard since I don’t know a single thing about game making
