Impossible to honestly & accurately answer your question without seeing your build, stats, etc.
All the people talking about āminion builds not viableā are full of ****⦠at least pre capstone dungeon, which i have not tackled yet.
My build is as simple as they get. Stack on the attributes that transfer from your character (attack speed/crit for damage). Get your own life up. Get reapers/mages, grind until you get the legendary modifiers that give you more skellies. Sac golems. Get items with minion attack speed/minion health. Not every legendary is better than a rare.
I use reap/decrepify/bonespear/aotd. Perma-Vulnerable elites/champs, damage reduction through the roof (currently ~70% when reaping, 31% alone from armor). Blood mist as an escape. Only times I died was by my own damn stupidity.
I have yet (@43/44) to find a legendary that really fits a 2hand-necro, played on full rares and one imprinted legendary until the early 30s. So either I am incredibly lucky or minions can be made to workā¦![]()
Ok I think I figured the tentacle build out. Thanks to the video!
Did my first Dungeon now but it was a hell of a dance and very hectic and stressful. Not what I expect from a Diablo on WT1. Guess I am getting too old for that s***.
And we might just have to live with their balancing still needs a lot of patching! Some luckers who got the gear and know what to go for dance through content on WT3 while people like me struggle even on WT1.
And I know from D3 that gear can mean day and night. But that should not be the case if I play low/noob content.
I know that certain tweaks can also mean day and night in D3. Still kinda trying to figure out where I still need to tweak to be more powerful and maybe eventually move to WT2. But right now its like ānopeā.
Question⦠does better gear drop in WT2 than WT1? I know better gear drops in WT3. Maybe (ironically) playing WT1 is actually making it harder because youāre getting gear with worse stats? Honest question, no sarcasm
I have a level 45 necro on WT1 running decomp and sever, plus full minion passives. Just random legendary aspects that Iāve found along the way, no special min/max build.
The minions are incredibly tanky if you know how to use the priest, they rarely die and with corpse carving reapers they are very easy to replace if they do. Dungeon bosses die in like 20 seconds while I mostly stand around safely.
I understand it may get bad at highet world tiers, but I find the early level complaints about necro to be baffling, it has been incredibly easy and smooth so far. If you want to use minions you just have to spec into them.
Ya the damage is good with decomp and a build around them.
Your glass canon though watch out in T3.
I thought you asked for advice it was just a tip for gold Iām not telling you you are doing something wrong or whatever but alright nvm I guess⦠weird.
No.
The only thing making it harder is staying around WT1 when WT3 is a huge jump in power.
For the OP, get to 50, farm dungeons for gear, focus on survival affixes like armor, resistance, damage reduction, minion life. The capstone dungeon monsters hit hard. Do the capstone at 50+.
Appreciate OP at least posting their build for help.
Too many ppl on here just complain because they are bad and scream refund after 20 hours of play
If I remember anything from D3 and go with my experience it really is just min/max gear drop-luck with your build.
I was just not expecting having to do that already in WT1 and facing troubles if you just walz it or ignore it.
But the biggest disappointment is that even with a normal build and normal build you can have troubles in WT1. Would not open a thread if I were in WT2,3 or 4.
I will need some gear-build-creator and see what other people have. Cause skills are just one part. If you dont min/max the right stats and perks to your build, its useless.
Anyone can help out with what gear I need to look for or what stats I want to roll asap!?
Got that necro, bone spear, tentacles corpse explosion build.
Specific gear with stats shouldnt be a requirement to be honest, that is truly endgame stuff. You are still in the mid-leveling phase, where upgrades arent as common as in the early levels, but still common enough that specifications like rolling stats are just a waste of resources. The big green numbers next to damage and armor should still be enough, its the right legendary aspects that should give you the next significant power boost.
Frankly, i dont think you have the right ones if you are struggling on Tier 1 and if you need to get detailed with rolling stats right now, then you wont have much chance on Tier 3. I already didnt have problems on Tier 1 until i reached 50 and did the capstone, because Tier 3 hit extremely hard, i got one-shotted when more than a handful of enemies were attacking me. I couldnt do anything else than searching for small groups with like one elite and going for chests in the hopes that sacred items would drop. Luckily it didnt take long to get going again and better legendary aspects have the most impact on my build. I am still not rerolling everything on lvl 54, because upgrades are still common enough, which isnt even a good thing, because of legendary aspects being so significant for my damage output and survival.
After couple of hours of grinding I figured it out and was baffled that I didnt came up with it myself.
And I already answered it myself in this thread.
I was struggling cause my gear was crap.
Thatās the only thing that matters in Diablo. Ever.
But people on forums often dont realise that and come from all different perspectives.
Didnt expect D4 being so reliant though on that after you finish the main storyquest.
Thanks for all the replies and help!
