Am I Doing Something Wrong?

I have noticed this every season and never really thought to ask but wondering if someone knows the answer. So, I play causally and doing so I prefer to follow builds from good players who take the time to min/max etc. and post their builds. Like Rob for example.

My issue is the paragon boards. On his site he puts all his builds it seems like the red area around the glyph is always bigger than what the actual game shows me when I add my glyph and what I need to get the bonus perk. So therefore it makes my boards off compared to his. Like I have to end up adding more to that area to get the full perk.

Am I doing something wrong then and why on are the paragon builds on the site he puts his stuff up always a larger area than what the game actually shows? I also saw this on maxroll too having bigger glyph areas for the bonus.

Hope this makes sense?

You are probably looking at finished build with a fully populated Paragon board. There 3 levels for the red area, first transition is when the Glyph reaches level 15, the second one is at level 46. You need to level your Glyphs doing Pit runs to bring them to level 46 which gives the max red area.

your glyphs gain more range upon reaching lvl 15 =)

cant check right now. doesnt 46 just unlock the legendary effect and max range is at 15?

The streamers always have their glifs Maxed out, so it shows the Potential on their builds.

You have to max our your glifs like theirs to fully get that Affect.

Stay true to it, copy paragon point for paragon point and move on. Once your finished then you max out your glifs like they do (OR) max out your glifs any time you get the chane.
Don’t add anything just to make it work.

If you look every tier has a small radius boost. It doesnt stop at 45, 45 just gives you the legendary.

Can’t check now either. Didn’t pay much attention to that but I believe the range also increases at 45. I can be wrong though.

If you follow build guides, you might want to check those from Maxroll too. They usually provide the Paragon progression steps. Tells you which Glyphs you need to level first to 15 then to 46.

Long story short, the reason the red area seems larger is because you need to level up your glyphs.

You’re not exactly doing something wrong. Just need to farm more.

The range increases at 15 and 46.

Paragon boards the red areas increase based on level at 15, and at 46 the radiuses increase by 1.

So when you look at a build guide they probably show you post 46. It is easy enough to offset till you are at 46 by assigning outer nodes not in play to inner nodes that the glyph requires for it’s secondary benefit. Then resadjust to your guide once beyond 46.

The most important thing is to have your primary and secondary bonus as soon as you can, The pathing for level 46+ glyphs is optional until you are there.

I am not a pro player either. I follow guides too. Just tweak them depending on my gear or my build stats.

I would advise no to start by trying to fully populate the first board but rather open the 5 boards and add the Glyphs.

Ahhh okay. Thank you everyone for the feedback! That makes sense now. I never noticed that they increased the radius at level 46. Probably because I never got a glphy that high lol.

If you use maxroll they do the paragon boards with a scroll. You can find an approximate to where you are.
Also go in with an understanding that the maxroll builds are not optimized but a good starting point until you are ready to go with a finalized build from someone else.
