Am i crazy or did the team announce in their stream all renown would carry over

Now we’re back to just the alters of Lilith and the map? Its like screaming in to the void with these guys, no one wants to redo all that garbage.

Nope, you’re just crazy. Was and still is just the map and altars.

Im definitely not the only one as i saw streamers recapping the livestream claiming full renown carry over. Sucks to have wasted my time in capping all renown but good to find out now to no longer waste my time in this trash game that tries to disguise redoing the same unfun and pointless time sink as additional content but more power to anyone else who is excited for that

You can easily watch the livestream yourself. They never stated that all renown would carry over. Anyone who claims they did is flatly wrong.

They DID say that any map or altar progress would carry over to all characters on your account.

Yeah, from there earlier streams, I was certain that we would get the skill points and the paragon points if we got them on eternal. But apparently we have to grind it all out again for the paragon points.

I really don’t know why they yet again made prerequisite grinds for baseline power. We already went through this in shadowlands, from what I understand. But I guess they didn’t learn from it. Or they’re just out of ideas and recycling even bad ones at this point.

Bro this information has been available for a long time. Glad youre here, cluttering forums with meaningful posts. Ty lil bro

Well they certainly werent very clear at all in explicitly stating which is very simple, hey, your lilith and map will carry over but no dungeons and no quests and no waypoints. It was deceptive the way they revealed it at the very least. And it was pointless because the knowledge that lilith statues would carry over was available before this livestream ever aired.

You are either being trolled or misinformed by these two imbeciles.

The renown DOES carry over, you WON’T have to farm it again, same for the statues.

Now notice please that there are 2 kinds of renown.

The one account wide (the one that matters, the one with skill points and paragon points) this one carries over.

Then you have the character renown, that gives you useless gold and useless experience , that one “has to be farmed” again. But no reason to, not really.

Maybe you should watch it again yourself. Just saying.

Soooo i dont have to farm the codex again, or the paragon points or the skill points ?

I’d suggest the same to you. Literally right after they talk about the Battle Pass in the July 6th campfire they make it clear how the renown that carries over is the fog of war map discovery and the altars.

You farm the codex again all over. That does not carry over.

The paragon points and ability points that you unlocked with your account wide renown will carry over to the seasons.

Well i guess the paragon points is the most important

Stop taking crazy pills!!!

The most important things carry over. (Unlocked cosmetics, mounts, paragon and skill point from the account wide renown)

The character renown is so useless that doesn’t even matter in the long run. You will just farm it slowly and organically as the season progresses and you won’t care for it since the rewards are really insignificant.

This is why people on these forums keep saying over and over not to listen to streamers. 9/10 of them have no idea what they are talking about.

But… they stated EXACTLY that. Literally. Altar progress, map progress, and main city waypoints. There was no way to confuse what they said. It was crystal clear in the stream that is what they said.

Only the renown points from altars and map exploration carry over. This is enough points to unlock the first two account wide bonuses (+5 potions and +5 skill points if you did all the maps).

A new character in S1 will start with +5 skill points and potions. They specifically mentioned this in the last stream. You have to farm renown to unlock the 3rd (skill point), 4th (obols) and 5th (paragon point) account wide bonuses in S1.

Rather than debating, the best idea is to go to the source document or video. Blizzard did a recap of it and published a Season Blog.

This portion should answer a lot of questions for folks, including what carries over and what does not.

With Season of the Malignant beginning on July 20, we wanted to take a moment to equip you with everything you need to know about Seasons.

To participate in Seasons, a new character must be made on the Seasonal Realm. You do not need to purchase a Battle Pass or any add-ons to play the Seasonal content, but you must have completed the campaign on either the Eternal or Seasonal Realm with at least one character. Once you have completed the Campaign, any Seasonal character will start the game with:

  • The option to skip the Campaign.
  • Your Mount available immediately.
  • All previously discovered Altars of Lilith unlocked, and the corresponding Renown for them.
  • All previously discovered areas of the map revealed, and the corresponding renown for them. (they said not all waypoints would be revealed though, just main cities~MC)

Once the Season has ended, the character you made and its progress will be transferred to the Eternal Realm. All items you collected, including in your Seasonal stash, will be transferred too. You can take this character into Sanctuary whenever you please, but Season-specific features such as Malignant Hearts will no longer be accessible.

The total renown should be about 2 bars per zone they said. So that does get you some of the benefits that go with it.
