I haven’t seen this topic yet and I had a few questions and observations. How many does YOUR map menu indicate you have located?
I am currently stuck at a measly 12 out of 28.
Is there really 28 altars in Fractured Peaks?
If there is, do they spawn in dungeons too?
I feel like this is the only way I missed SO MANY! Well, I also admittedly don’t pay attention to my surroundings as much as I should.
Oh yeah. One more thing. Has anyone seen the buff applied to their other characters and can verify its working? I seem to only be getting +Strength. Is there other attributes?
Edited - There are 28 Altars of Lilith. Not 24. Doh!

They are all there, some of them are tucked away pretty good, others inside of buildings. A few are really easy to miss. None are inside of dungeons, and there is one in each stronghold. You aren’t required to complete the stronghold in order to get the altar.
Chef did you find all 28 on the same character? Just curious. And your map menu says 28 out of 28?

28/28 actually. I found them all last weekend during early access. Rather than make a bunch of characters to test all the classes I decided to explore and complete as much of the map and quests as possible.
As I said some are really well hidden. There is one I found tucked behind a pile of crates, could barely see the red glow, another was in a not so obvious cave in the overland.
You can always consult a guide if you really want to collect them all. Another hint, try searching at night as the red glow will stand out better.

Ah my mistake 28. I will edit my posts. Thats crazy how I missed so many! Less than 50% is an F anyway you look at it. I am obviously not a good player.

And the attributes gained definetly applied to your other characters?
Yes and if you get renown to level 3 you will also start a new character with 2 skill points out of the gate.
On necro 28/28. Took a while to find all of them. Of course I already knew 11-12 locations from first weekend.
Also you can group up with someone in game willing to take you around to all locations for a quick boost as well. Last weekend I helped a few random people with those plus a few whispering chests.
Final pro tip, get a screen grab of your map once you do have them all and save it for the release so you will know the locations and not have to try and remember all 28!

I did the same thing, class I’d prefer to play, keep messing with it, and went on an ENTIRE map quest…Found all Lilith’s, and every nook n crany “crate” that took the key you had to buy…
You guys are good then because I have just completed the map and have yet to find half the altars! Meaning i got ALL fog of war uncovered.
Man I need my eyes checked. And brain while i am at it
There is 28. im 28/28 on necro. no they are not in dungeons. and yes they are hidden.

You dont need a Screenshot, just use an interactive world map, there exist already few of them…
Some people prefer to play the game without guides, maps and other resources from the internet. Some could have easily searched for and linked a guide. I could also easily research builds instead of doing the work for myself as well. But after you’ve done the work why not just save it yourself for the next character. That’s all I was suggesting here to the OP who seemed much more eager to search on his own.
Hmm… the one in the frozen stronghold wouldn’t let me into it’s location until I cleared the stronghold. Yes, I could physically get near it but the ice barrier was immune to any and all damage. After I killed the boss I was able to go back and claim it.
I most definitely was. I would have searched for an answer to my question about the number of Altars currently in the beta, but I was probably going to spoil finding them on my own as there would most certainly be a map of exact locations… and I have no self control so I would have looked 
PROTIP: Make sure you make a good copy of locations. As it now stands, if you want to be a season player, until you memorize all the locations, you’re going to have to go find these statue’s every season, or forgo the buffs they give.
As every 3 mo, you will be forced to start over at Level 1, that is, if you want the “new” content/quest, and rewards from your BP’s…
So again, make a good cheat guide for yourself…

You will still want them for renown points during seasons. A few of them are off the beaten path but most can be grabbed in the course of traversing from point A-B.
