Really annoying alt tab issue since launch, running windowed fullscreen the game will freeze on the frame I tabbed out on - the game is NOT locked up, it’s still running, I can still hear it, and alt tabbing back out and in will ‘unstick’ the frame
I’ve tried adjusting background fps to see if it was a problem with the 8 limit, but that didn’t fix it
This is on a 3080ti, latest nvidia drivers, Win10, latest updates - it was happening during the beta as well, on whatever older nvidia driver was in use then, so it’s been a consistent problem for a while now
This isn’t a major crash bug, but it is a pretty seriously annoying QoL problem, as any time I tab out to check discord or a helltide tracker or a build, or or or, I wind up with a stuck frame and have to double tab in and out again
I have this exact same problem and it is VERY annoying.
Just updating that the latest nvidia drivers did not fix this, still occuring, often requires more than one alt tab to unfreeze the screen
edit: Latest patch on 6/27 did not fix this, still occurs all the time when tabbing in and out
edit: 7/6 patch didn’t fix this either
This has been happening to me as well, 3070 here. Most mysterious issue I’ve come across in all my 30+ years of gaming. I simply can’t resolve it. Then one day I put my old monitor (which had a g-sync module mind you, not just ‘compatible’) and the problem went away completely, then I started using my Odyssey G7 again and the problem appeared again…
Ok this is still happening and I’ve upgraded to a 4090
Whatever this is, it’s baked into either Windows 10 or Diablo 4 - I saw a report of the same issue on AMD cards, so it doesn’t seem to be limited to nvidia either.
edit: This thread seems to indicate there’s an AMD setting that resolved it, but I don’t know what the equivalent would be for nvidia cards:
edit: lmao I can’t post a link - it was in a forum thread on tomshardware, google it I guess if you have this issue on an amd card "I found a potential fix. I disabled Enhanced Sync in AMD Adrenaline software and haven’t had the issue in several hours of play time. Upon researching this, it appears this was an issue about 4 years ago as well and seems to have returned in a newer driver update. "
