Alpha Aspect rabies?

Might be a stupid question but: when you use this aspect, do the wolves use YOUR rabies and whatever augments you have for it & you have to keep it on your bar OR do they have their own rabies separate from your skill?

In no particular order of importance

  1. The wolves use YOUR rabies. So ranks in Rabies affect it.
  2. You do not have to have it on your skill bar.
  3. The aspect that reduces the cooldown of rabies per affected monster and any cooldown reduction (temper/regular affixes etc.) don’t seem to affect how often the wolves use it.

Although it’s kind of useless since Rabies cannot stack, makes the whole point of 3 werewolf companions useless if all 3 rabies can’t stack.

That’s aint correct.

Rabies does stack.

From what I’ve seen, not exactly. The x60% dmg increase over time node gets reset every time a new rabies application is applied. Also think thr duration temper is not increasing overall damage of Rabies.

The aspect works in a special way with the wolves. When they cast Rabies you get the cooldown reduction applied

It’s not that.

It has diminishing returns. Every next poison applies at something like 65-70% of the previous (dont at me for exact percentage, I couldn’t be arsed to test THAT long). If you manage to spam it enough you end up dealing about half the expected damage.

The duration temper just doesn’t update the tooltip.

No idea who came up with the “dmg increase bonus resets” when you see that behavior even when you haven’t selected it (so just 1 rank of Rabies and nothing else).

EDIT: I was wrong. Directly from the word of God in discord.
“It isn’t so much about it being 1.7 stacks but that poisoning damage is additive to each other and then redistributed over the duration of the dot.”
Basically every time you apply poison it evens it out in a sense. The damage output is still the same mind you; it just evens out the damage throughout the duration.

Does that include any aspects that boost rabies or the skills enhanced/savage/natural rabies?

  1. The werewolves already inherit most of your boosts; I am not sure what aspects exactly you have in mind
  2. Yes, it is literally like you casting it, but the rabies they cast (in your stead) also get boosted by anything minion related (Aspect of the Alpha, Call of the Wild etc.)

An interesting (but not useful) interaction is you can use nature’s fury and aspect of nature’s savagery to get your werewolves to cast boulders when they use rabies
