Allow us to continue leveling up the toon in Eternal

Call me OCD. I would like to continue to level up beyond level 100. I would like to fill up all the paragon boards to see where it will bring my toon to.

This was the thing that kept me going in Diablo 3. The desire to get more and more powerful - to have an Uber Character.

How many of you out there have the same desire?

Just no. Endless leveling does not belong with how much power the boards hold.

Maybe if there was something else like if you leveled you got X dust to pick up a cosmetic.

From an OCD view i agree with you.

Nah, the current way forces you to make choices based on the limited resources available. This can lead to quite a bit of fun theory crafting.

I want SOMETHING for after you hit 100 but I don’t think endless paragon points is the answer for me either. I wouldn’t mind activities that maybe unlock an additional 20 or so paragon points post 100 and some other activities which give different benefits but for me, endless paragon points are a no.

Basically I agree with you on wanting post 100 ways to continue building your character, just don’t entirely agree on what those ways should be.

Hi
I pointed this out also: release cap for 0.5-1.0 dex/str point/level. Board paragon of course frozen as it is. After lvl 100 nothing to do…

I’m not a fan of endless progression. It tends to create massive power creep and also widens the gap between new/old/unlimited time players.

I could see the attraction for a limited boost, though. Something like Eternal chars get +1 Paragon point for every level above 50.

An extra 50 points total wouldn’t unlock incredible power, but it would give Eternal characters something cool that the Seasonals don’t get (until they move to Eternal). It would also give players a reason to keep playing any seasonal char they didn’t go all the way to 100 with.

I quit cold turkey the moment i hit 100, so yeah, I’d like to be able to keep progressing the board

I’d rather they try something original instead of copy/pasting failed ideas from the past… because that’s what endless paragon is.

This would make an interesting season mechanic with an expanded amount of boards and endless levels. They cant do it for eternal though. Some characters would become too powerful with endless paragon levels and be unstoppable in pvp.

Wouldn’t this mostly be an eternal problem? So not sure why people care either way when we get reset every 3 months.

Idk. Eternal might be okay? That kind of feature should not go to seasons like some other players have called for though.

Unlimited paragon in D3 basically ruined the game’s ability to ever be anything but a joke and made Botting the go to for the win. Fun, but broken.

Here is how I see it. Fighter, Amazon, Assassin, Monk, Paladin, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Witch Doctor are classes that we do not have in game. At two classes per expansion, that is 4 expansions before they run out of classes. We know that there are yearly updates. So, level cap raise, a couple of game mechanics, new zone or new content in old zones will happen with each yearly update. Given what WoW did recently, I do not see Blizzard raising the level cap more than 5 or 10 levels.

I don’t see them raising level cap at all, one new class and a new tier per expansion is about all I’m expecting at this point.

Some ppl prefer eternal. You cant just throw whatever mechanics you want in eternal because reasons. That is what happened to POE 1. The bloat ended the games development and forced POE2 into being.

Honestly it would help eternal since like you said they don’t get seasonal mechanics like hearts but they get all the nerfs

Some mechanics should goto eternal. But the current hearts is a big no and endless leveling is also a big no. Imagine barbarians at level 400. It would make a huge turn off for casuals as all the hardcore ppl would dominate pvp at such a level pvp would die out. We already have this problem where lv 100s roam pvp with pvp builds and kill everyone. Now imagine a lv 400 poison rogue in pvp who plays 8-12 hours a day.

My question is will eternal every be relevant again? When expansions come will we actually get some time to enjoy the new content with those characters before another season drops? Or is eternal just going to stay a character graveyard?

It’s eternal tho, so that’s expected. If you want to compete in eternal with other eternal players, play on that server lol

You are wrong. This is what I am trying to communicate to you. My friends dont have time to play season every season. They made char on eternal. They would not like eternal to be ruined because this is what you think eternal is. Its not. Eternal is a realm just like season. Its not the test realm you do whatever you want. I would support a test realm that has everything from all seasons. Call it legacy server or something but not eternal.

If you do not play seasons that means you play Eternal or nothing. So, to some people, seasons are not relevant. However, your question of what happens with seasons is a good one. After all, one may not wish to level a seasonal and Eternal characters at the same time. So, one would hope there would be a gap between seasons with expansions. If not, Eternal will be even more of a graveyard than you seem to indicate.
