Diablo 2 and 3 had ways to spend gold and material. This is missing in d4. If I want a boot I must spend my material and gold for it
We need good uses for gold, but Masterworking and Enchanting do a pretty good job of that right now for the vast majority of players, especially those not trading in the item economy for botted gold with their GG items. I don’t think the ability to buy a GA would be good though. One, it sets up a ridiculous situation where you just hoard and hoard until you can upgrade the item, but more importantly, it makes it so you don’t have the same level of excitement for really good 2, 3, 4GA drops. Drops still need to experience some incorrigible RNG to keep people excited.
