Allow All Body Types On All Characters

I know this post is kind of a repeat of other posts, but as someone who has read how music, art, and culture are used to help force politics onto the world I would like to offer some thoughts.

Right now there is a question among gamers… Is the fat druid coincidence? Is this being forced upon me? Am I crazy? Surely it is just coincidence.

But it is not.

If you want people to keep playing video games in the future, especially RPG, it only makes sense that all Races can be fat, skinny, handsome, ugly, vicious, brutal, savage, ruthless, etc. Locking players into a particular look is not only Political but dangerous to any ideas of inclusivity. I have read the books, you know, that make these points, and while I understand bucking the status quo and using that same logic to go against what you consider the system, Fire Legitimately is not used to Fight Fire unless it is used to burn everything down to begin with so no fires can take place in the future, which is not productive. So… There’s that.

Features allowing for the druid to be attractive to everyone should be available.

“Men argue. Nature acts” - Voltaire.

Nature will play out and almost nobody will play female druid.

Not going to happen.
Theyd have to rework all the armor art to fit.

I will play a male druid.

Then add sliders. There’s always a solution if there’s enough motivation to look for it.

Adding sliders shouldn’t be so difficult. It is ironic how being less inclusive is now Blizzard’s answer to those who were casting hate at them for seeming to their accusers like they were less inclusive.

Funny but not, considering that that is literally removing freedom of speech and expression by claiming that someone’s preferences for inclusivity are removing freedoms of speech and expression.

Video game characters, just like characters in other forms of media, and just like human beings, have no obligation to be attractive for you.

I’m fact, maybe you should work on yourself if you’ve got such a limited view of what constitutes attractiveness.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Aka you ugly

I appreciate your thoughts, but removing choices to force a Political ideology is wrong. I may have a fat boyfriend/girlfriend/alien lover in real life that I find incredibly attractive.

That doesn’t mean I should not have access to other choices.

Should they also make drag queen versions and (nothing against the people themselves). but people who have disabilities? Or should people who have disabilities not play if there isn’t someone they can associate to? On the one hand if it was the old me that would say it is absurd to care about these things, but is it really a thing in games? I know other games like Sea of thieves has such customizations.

Of course. That would be awesome. I should be able to take a picture of whatever I want to and upload it. Killing demons as a chocolate covered pretzel.

No choices were taken away.

Games start with no content and then things are added in. You can’t claim that what you wanted was taken from you when it was never given in the first place.

What you find attractive doesn’t matter.

Using sliders has always allowed for every option. If Blizzard is going to use sliders, they should allow for every option.

Again, I should literally be able to rampage hell as an amputated leg.

Or people could just stop trying to insert the real world into an " Action Role Playng Game"

Nice argument, but that is literally what you are doing by inserting what you believe into video games.

Let’s copy this gem from earlier weeks:

As a woman who works out and takes pride in being attractive the whole “play your fantasy” thing they marketed. Playing druid is my nightmare. I go to the gym and take care of myself to NOT look like that.

I always wanted to be a walking chocolate with box shaped arms, almost like in minecraft. I eat plenty of chocolate to make sure it reminds me of what I want to be.

i am disgusted by the Druid shape, where are the stains of chocolate. If he is not a chocolate im not playing him

Characters are not real, living beings.

In Diablo the pre-made characters were premade, because they were people in that universe. There weren’t bajillion warriors, there was THE warrior. We all got to play THE Warrior.
In D2 we all got to play THE Barbarian… there were more than one barbarians in universe, but well all got to play this very specific one.
Lore wise lack of customization made sense.

However, D4 is an MMO. There’s already some customization. We just want more of it.

Just allow people to take a picture of what they want and travel Hell as a chocolate bar. Stop using your Politics one way or the other. Your arguments are all cute enough, but fall flat in light of the truth that the only people who give a rat’s behind are the ones making the games.

For developers become Less Inclusive because of your demands that they are Not Inclusive is also counter productive and nothing our Future Friends would be fond of.

That’s what gear is for. And transmogs.

I’m glad they did the bare minimum because character customization in RPGs, especially aRPGs isn’t that important. Your character gets covered in gear.

Plus, it doesn’t matter if you’re skinny or fat. I think the sorcerer looks really awful—he’s way too skinny, it looks gross. But oh well.

If you have sliders why not allow them to go either direction? People got mad at Blizzard and started complaining that there was not enough representation.

So now they lock people into playing a Race as a look they normally wouldn’t choose, which is called condescension not courtesy.

Please, continue.

There aren’t sliders. It’s way easier to design 10 body types than 30 with a feature to modify.

Oh okay, GTA must be the only game that succeeds in genuine role playing.

When you gonna rob someplace or shoot someplace up that is the only fantasy you are alllowed full inclusivity because it’s such a a Video Game and Not Real Life.
