All serious Sorc players know most of Sorc enchantment are bad

we have very few choice that really usefull. Now Dev are not improving other useless enchantment but taking the few useful away.

Sorc need a enhantment rewor.

don’t msot builds default to the frost blades (for cdr) & teleport?

called we just need betetr alternatives

Those enchantments with cooldown needs to interact with cooldown reduction. Hell, ALL enchantments need to be affected by player stats not be some boring fixed number.

Why kill the fun my making current enchantment trash? Why not improve other enchantment to make them competitive?

I would say Incinerate is the one right now I cannot find a use for simply because the AI for it is bad and the serpent hits next to nothing most of the time unless in cramped hall maps. That one could use a rework or something for sure.

I’ve never used the firebolt enchantment anyway, opting to use fireball for the explosion impact and the fact fireball is shared with everyone in the party and/or area. Then again, I do have a different play style and I tend not to use anything meta and all meta builds used firebolt.

I must agree here. Incinerate as a passive gives you a head spewing fire that damages nothing but air and walls the majority of the time… There is no targeting with that passive at all.

Easily can be fixed, Look at how well familiar works, It’s just a matter of when i guess, and if they decide to change the enchantment based on the new skills.

In the mean time Familiar is a lot of fun and sorc is still great to play I think.

Fireball is a great choice for most content. It is amazing in helltides and hordes and nmd!

It is essentially useless against bosses particularly in the Pit.

Most of the meta builds abandoned Firebolt in S6 in favor of familiars so it is not currently in use by many if any. That said most of them are making use of it via a bug that causes dmg to always be fire when it is cast by unstable currents. This allows those builds not to take an active slot for burning damage, but relies on a bug that will likely be fixed at some point

Sorc is typically great at AOE which makes it strong and fun for most content and a lot of the changes people get upset by have little or no impact on that aoe excellence.

Sorc has always struggled with single target damage, something that you must be able to do to kill bosses particularly in the Pit.

The changes to firebolt although limiting choice are not an insurmountable problem, but there really is not much in the way of enchants that can really help with ST damage, so losing the option to apply burning damage without giving up an active slot where you could impact ST dmg is not a great help.

I may be misremembering, but didn’t they also change some of the other things that made that one enchantment needed on every build? Some of the abilities and passives?

It still hurts right in the meowmeow that they took away the 3rd ench slot based on a level capped beta and the game launched with sorc being the worst class.

Ice Shard was strong before S4 in single target with a decent build around him and all bugued interaction of the sorcerer.

I smashed Lilith with a Ice Shard Sorcerer at S3.

I really hope the sorcerer will get a rework of his enchantment board (80% are useless atm) + add the 3rd slot enchantment.

while its true that many enchantments are weak a third slot at 50 or 60 would not be entirely useless.

For example, I would love to be able to slot in arc lash alongside of ice blades and teleport to get some extra stuns to proc more lightning damage, faster staggering and extra CC on trash mobs, or to be able to add fireball to clear trash faster and give me more time on the boss, or Lightning spear to help with burst dps when i televade onto a stack of crackling…

I agree a third slot likely wouldn’t be enough in and of itself to address enchantments, but it wouldn’t hurt :wink:

also does anyone know if incinerate enchant applies burning? with the build i have right now it says every 7 seconds a serpent spawns and incinerates enemies for 8 seconds. sound like 100% uptime

every 8 seconds a spirit serpent fires a beam with you ( in the same direction ) doubling your beams width and damage by 50%

Huh? is this a incoming update? a unique or rune, because it’s not the current base game enchantment for incinerate.

If you are suggesting a improvement, yes that would be it.

The PTR update did not solve core issues sorc has and made it worse

I agree with the fact Sorcerer Enchantment should be massively rework.

Some of them was never picked since the Launch just how incredibly bad they are.

Who play seriously with the Frost Bolt or even the Charged Bolt enchantment today? There is absolutly no credible reason to take them because how weak they will made you…

I watched lurkins update, frost is DoA but we are getting some interesting changes, dont go all doom and gloom yet.
