AI and CC - Overtuned?

Am I the only one, feeling like Enemi AI/CC is just completely overtuned and not fun to engage?

Especially the Frozen/freeze, where you get frozen and cant do anything?
or
The freeking water wall, that blocks the entire screen.

I feel its a clunky mess, that ruins the flow of gameplay. Like character moves, freeze, move, freeze, move, dodge, freeze aaaaand repeat. Diablo 4 has the most annoying CC I ever encountered in any Diablo game, PoE, Last Epoch, Grim Dawn etc. I feel like 50% of my action is dodging all kinds of crap on the ground. I want to smash monsters, not dodging every 1-2 sec. Boss fights etc, makes sense that you need to dodge a lot. but running around exploring, having to be 100% focused, is so draining.

and the stun lengths… -.-’

Any thoughts?

I think a lot of players feel the same way, it does seem like enemies can spam thier cc spells like every 3-5 seconds, and it can get pretty annoying. They need to increase the cooldown on those things to maybe like 15-20 seconds imo.

For some reason the devs think more CC = harder difficulty.
I mean they aren’t technically wrong, it’s just a dumb way of doing difficulty

I brought this up when the game released and only got called out for “being bad” lmao. How is dodging circles every 3 secs fun.

I think the spiders are especially egregious because they can carpet what feels like the entire floor in their web garbage and it stays for like three hours even after they die. Playing without high unstoppable uptime is a massive pain.

They don’t CC you if you one hit kill everything.
You also can use those curative potion to break CC and give you a huge boost in crowd control reduction. Each class has it’s own way to deal with cc.

That’d be great if web spit wasn’t the spider’s first move every time and it stays even after they die; sadly it is their first move every time.

Only if they’re far away and can see you.

Im just going to say the obvious

Mobs should never CC (slow… yes)
a Boss ok general mobs no.

The part missing is these are bowling pins …
They go Poof …

Then leaders of a group might have an ability that does a little more damage and they have a little more hit points.

An end of level Boss.
Ok they have a short CC , because they are a boss.

The fighting in Diablo right now is not very rewarding.
Mechanically not rewarding …

The repetitive button 1 button 1 button 1 , button 2
Gen Gen Gen Spend
Gets old … as the Generators serve no purpose but to insert delays into damage.

But the issue is the feel , fighting doesn’t feel fun .
It feels like work .

The CC is a big issue.

In my mind i just picture the annoying brother.
You are playing and he walks by and slaps the controller out of your hand.
Annoyed you pick it up and keep playing …
He slaps the controller out of your hand …
You tell him where to go … pick up the controller … start playing …
He slaps the controller out of your hand…

How long until you rage !!!

CC is NO different … than having a brother sitting beside you … constantly unplugging … taking the batteries out … or slapping the controller out of your hand.

Both = You can’t do a thing…
It’s terrible … especially ohh wait … your only recourse to escape… yeah you used that 0.2 seconds ago … its on a 30 second cooldown… and he slaps the controller out of your hand…

Also yes the waterfall needs to go NOW! because having NO visibility and NO way to move my character sucks.
Im never sure … am i lagging out ? did i just LD … i mean i cant see anything and my character isn’t moving … what the hell … Ohh He knocked the controller out of my hand and turned off the tv … great

Turns out enemies generally don’t spawn exactly into melee range bruh

I think the damages are a little more sane though. In D3 if you hit a magic beam on the ground it would insta kill you if you didn’t have your buffs on. Some of the animations do make it difficult to see things going on though.
