So after 1 hour of farming goblins in Nahantu nonstop.
I came away with 38 goblins.
Your mileage may vary ofc, but that seems quite low when you are going for 40 million.

I suspect that the global goals will be unlocked regardless of player participation, as there is no visible counter.

Indeed. The game could probably be down for the entire event and it would still somehow have met and exceeded its overall goal.

Don’t worry. Achieving anything in this game is always easy. It is a casual game after all. You can count on that this event will work out just fine and everyone gets their reward, just log in on the last day and claim it all.

That depends, if there are 1M players worldwide doing the goblin hunt you can rest easy having done your part to reach the goal.

damn. 38 in an hour?
I zoomed around with my DoK rogue for 3 hours in Nahantu and got a whopping 28.
Boss mats everywhere and only 3 GA items. One of them was a 2ga weapon tho, so at least I got an upgrade. Not a single aspect upgrade tho lol
I don’t know if people understand this but you’re not alone. It’s not just you. It’s hundreds, no thousands, of other people. You need overcome the idea that your contribution is going to be the contribution. It’s not.

For context, if D4 averages 10k players per hour over the entire 14 day span of the event, each player would need to kill an average of 286 goblins per day to hit the goal.
Well I found 2 in a half hour of hell tides…

I got about 50 in roughly an hour’s time. I had really good luck in the Nahantu zones. I’m pretty much done with the event for now. I’ll wait for the other 799,999 people to get their 50 goblins each.

How is this even an event as outside of Nahantu the goblin spawn rate is essentially unchanged? Plus the drops are basically just what you’d normally get from a goblin.
I’ve killed about 20 but I’m stopping now purely because I’m sick of Blizzard’s constant and mostly totally unnecessary manipulations and their steadfast refusal to ever give out any real rewards.

I played an hour in helltide and never saw a goblin.
I don’t think there are any goblins in PoE :/. My gigantic D4 friends list shows nobody on.
Besides, they are going to say the count was met refardless

I also used the DoK Rogue, and found most of them south of Kurast Bazaar.
When I went East to the Giant Lands there I found 4 only >.<
I suppose its just luck.

I played for about 1/2 an hour, got bored, and quit. I’ll just wait to pick up the rewards when the community hits them. To call this an event is an insult to events…again

I thought that at first, but after reading about your “luck”, mine was pretty much the same. I was in eastern Nahantu and found very few. After making that comment, I swapped to southern and started seeing them more frequently.
Seems like some areas just have higher spawn-rates? Which is kinda weird.

Double upvote this. My experience as well. And the variance isn’t slight. It goes from 3-5/hour to 30-50/hour.
