Aether counter in IH only working on certain compasses

Anyone else notice this? I see the counter appear most often wirh 8 waves, seldom or not at all with 10 wave

Yes, there are some bugs in IH.

  • Waves don’t count.
  • Aethers don’t count.
  • Visual effect of skills disappear.

Everyone knows this for months but dev never noticed. They never said they would fix this. They never attempt to fix this. All they do is nerf, nerf, and nerf.

You will see in the next campfire on 27th June they will say “We proudly nerf this, that, these, those builds (plural) for a good health in a long term and open up for a good game design.”

And if someone raise this bug in Q&A they will just say “We’re looking for it.”

The Infernal Hordes we are playing now will be reworked. I dont think they should waste more time trying to fix something for a system that we will not use on Season 10

I’ve only done 2 IHs so far – 1 10-wave, 1 4-wave. All the counters worked for me on both of them. I’m planning on doing some more later today so I’ll keep an eye on it, but it does seem to strike different people differently.

The counter works fine IF: you don’t do an undercity first. I’ve noticed every time I do an undercity and then IH the counter doesn’t work. After doing an undercity log off your current char before doing a hordes and you should be fine

I did my two IHs before I even bought VoH, so not doing undercity had nothing to do with my counters working.

Well yours are working so what’s your point? I’m trying to help those whose counters stop working

That there’s no rhyme or reason to why the counters aren’t working. They appear to affect different people differently. That may well be why the problem hasn’t been fixed.

If yours are working then you don’t know the problem. I’m saying there is rhyme and reason to it. They put in a fix but it still doesn’t work if you run an undercity first. If you now have the expansion try it for yourself?

I don’t think anyone knows the problem, & I never claimed that I did. But I’ll give the UC a shot & see if that makes any difference.

Except when you see the last patch notes and they say:
“Fixed a bug where Aether amount did not display in Infernal Hordes”

But then they didn’t fix it

So, I did as Evok suggested: ran an Undercity, did not log out, then immediately ran a 6-wave IH. The wave counter worked fine, but the aether counter did not, so yes, perhaps Evok’s suggestion that the issue is tied to the Undercity is correct.

My apologies to Evok if my earlier replies came off at all snarky or implying they were wrong.
