Advice or tips?

I know I’m playing a sub optimal build. But I don’t want to play 3 shouts and WW. As well as im only level 51. Working on getting the level fixed. Rage hard and kill things.

So the build I’m running is frenzy, Double Swing, Ground Stomp, Leap, Deathblow, and WotB. With this I can keep near permanent uptime on berserk. Where it shines in breaking boss stagger bars and getting 0 cost double swings off for the whole stance bar. Pop WotB right before hand and I can get the berserker rage up to maybe 300% bonus damage during the the rage, and every skill I swing boosts the timer by 2-3 seconds. I’ve been able to get 2 WotB chained together and the damage bonus seems to carry from the prior one to the current one and stack. Might be a poor observation. But I know before the 2nd one went off frenzy was hitting for 2.5k (about 600-700 without the first run from WotB) and after it was hitting for 5.5k. And the Double swing procs my vulnerability. I use Great sword expertise for the bleed damage since the raging rip was disabled.

So in World T3 i seem to have hit a wall. I can barely make it thru a pack without getting CC’d to oblivion, killed, or not having the damage to break thru. Any tips from master barbarians out there? I really dont want to change to the shout slave spec. And dont enjoy the WW spec.

And has anyone noticed the +rage/sec aspect is missing from the book of aspects?

It’s the moment you need to start playing something which is meta and not a made up build which doesn’t make a lot of sense - no disrespect here but WT3 onwards is not a faceroll.

No shouts = rip.

So to play barb its go shouts or just stop playing? Meh might have to give in. Guess its the old Model T sales pitch. “You can buy it in any color as long as its black.”

Barb is build around having shouts, they aren’t optional. It’s where you get your movement speed, damage, unstoppable(MUST HAVE) and ALL your defensives.

It’s horrible design but it’s what we have.

WT3 is not bad. I just got to WT3 on both my barb and druid. It was challenging at first but once I upgraded my gears to at least sacred rares it becomes a bit like WT2 again. Although it is indeed not faceroll like WT2 since mobs tends to hit harder. But once you get newer gears and paragon levels mobs dies fast as well.

having all 3 shouts its not mandatory, however I would consider running at least the one that gives you unbreakable. Stomp for CC and has useful synergies. HotA for Damage and aoe Stun, and the other slots depends on your avaliable aspects.

Thank you for the advice. Toying around with a HoTA build right now and its actually fun. Just have to get used to the lull between shouts as I don’t have all the glyphs/aspects for it yet. And that HoTA cost 70 rage…thats going to take some getting used to. Double swing was able to be spammed constantly with a net rage gain. I can see how this will scale better though. Any advice on trying to keep berserk up? feels kinda lame to use WoTB and then the bonus damage on rage spent just goes away 5 seconds after the skill was used.

You maintain berserker by critting with lunging strike and when popping enhanced war cry. Steel grasp gives you berserking as well if you use it for vulne procs.

Reroll druid or necro LMAO

Im a dswing barb and have cleared 81nm dungeon.

Look, you need unstoppable, so you need the shout. Thats not negotiable for nm pushing. Theres other sources of unstoppable, but they are less reliable and useful.

For damage, unconstrained doesnt cut it and will plateau im guessing in the 60-70 nm range.

You need unbridled/arsenal as a key passive to etch your dmg higher.

Wotb also eventually plateaus as you climb nm dungeons. The dmg boost isnt that great and you eventually have more favorable options for defense and utility, so it falls off your bar.

Deathblow falls off as the rest scales higher. My dswing hits much harder than deathblow, so theres that.

Sorry man the 3 shouts are really mandatory right now.

Its because Barbs are glass, have terrible resource management, and hit like a wet noodle so you need all 3 active to be at the base level of the other classes.
