Would it make sense to add Raise Skeleton to the Core skill block?
Maybe could be something like:
1 point - Raise up to 4 skeleton warriors
2 point - Raise up to 4 skeleton warriors and 1 skeleton mage. Minion attack and defense increased by 25%.
3 point - Raise up to 4 skeleton warriors and 2 skeleton mages. Minion attack and defense increased by 50%.
4 point - Raise up to 4 skeleton warriors and 3 skeleton mages. Minion attack and defense increased by 75%.
5 point - Raise up to 4 skeleton warriors and 4 skeleton mages. Minion attack and defense increased by 100%
Enhanced Raise Skeleton - Raise Skeleton summons up to 1 additional skeleton warrior and skeleton mage.
Supernatural Raise Skeleton - Skeletons now do Blood damage.
Paranormal Raise Skeleton - Lucky Hit: 5% chance to increase minion attack speed by 10%.
I don’t know if that’s any good or whatever but I was thinking what if minions were a skill officially. The Book of the Dead would have to change I think, at least to make up for making them skill into blood. Although maybe that’s not that bad as is. I wrote supernatural as blood just so you can choose to run minion overpower of you wanted and of not paranormal has benefit for all other minion styles.
Edit: yeah, it still does the same thing as now with the skeleton priest and damage increase of you have all minions summoned.
And yes, I’m saying that by getting that skill you’ll be able to have minions get lucky hit.
Core skill are not CD based but resource spending I would keep it like that. It allready uses corpses as resourse, but I wouldn’t mid if it became essence only, than there would be good reason to increase their damage. Their active ability could still use corpse, raise the skeleton priest for more damage and attack enemies in an area around the priest, so they would go where you raised the priest. Than they could work with that concept also as skill upgrade nodes.
I was also wondering about a basic summoning skill. I think a concept like D3 witch doctor’s haunt skill could work. Low damage DoT that generates essense while they last on the target.
Interesting. So having 2 summon types or as a replacement? In my head I saw it turning into a basic and core combo as I read it. If it’s a core skill needing essence to cast as they usually do, having a basic skill supporting it seems complementary. You know, like in the way that they have a blood, bone, and darkness basic and core.
I like that idea, was also thinking to a buff to the ultimate army of the dead, reducing it’s cooldown by at least 10 seconds and also a buff to Kalan’s Edict key passive so it wouldn’t have 2 seconds cooldown and would be always active.
Only 2 ultimates have 70 second cooldowns, AotD and Unstable Currents. Unstable Currents is highly valuable by casting additional skills with 25% increased frequency for 10 seconds, that’s better damage output lasting 40% longer. I don’t think AotD adds enough value as is to be a 45 second cooldown let alone a 70 second one.
Then when comparing other ultimates that increase damage output like Wrath of the Berserker, that’s 25% damage increase over 10 seconds at worst and 100% increased damage for 2 more skill points. When you use an aspect with AotD you get the attack speed buff for 70-100% for minions, best case scenario that’s effectively a 21-30% damage increase for 7 seconds while using skill points and an aspect slot. Realistically you’re losing up to 1 full second for the minions to find the target, 1.5 seconds if your in a situation where you have to summon your minions with AotD.
Yes please.
Nope. Both the Raise Skeleton and Golem skills are given for free. This is one of those issues where there’s conflict between their design choices to make minions a skill and not actually making them skills. If they were in the skill tree then it’s likely they would be able to scale with Harley and Evernight.
Are you familiar with D3 Bones of Rathma necro set? The 2 peice bonus decreases the CD of AotD by 0.5 seconds when your summons damage an enemy. I was thinking of this ability could come back as an aspect, uniqe, or bake it into the 3rd skill upgrade of AotD.
