instead of dungeons and the pit or seasonal things add something to chase after like we used to have keys to spawn ubers to get torches in d2 and or things like cow lvl. like they can do a lot of small changes to make something at end game work but they seem to be focused on couch gamer cheeto finger console slop easy mode hardly any challenge mode
Chase items would be nice. But we do need more engaging endgame. The loop isn’t very satisfying at the moment.
The dungeon updates for s9 is a good idea.
I am very pessimistic that we will get this kind of endgame anytime soon.
If I understand correctly, with Season 8 you can reach level 100 glyphs below the Torment 4 tier of Pit difficulty, because it was out of reach for parts of the playerbase. Unfortunately, this essentially removes the chase element from the Pit, reducing it to a purely benchmark system.
In this case it is no loss, nevertheless it looks like the dev direction we should expect going forward. If you ask me, I would bet on the upcoming leaderboard system to be their idea of aspirational endgame. But not for something more to chase other than a ranking.
Cows were challenging?
D2 was challenging?
Gotta laugh at both.
The game has an ok amount of content but they are committed to making it so the player ignores most of the content, such as the open world, or making it so the content is completed so fast and easily that it feels like the game has no content, such as one shotting the hardest bosses or reaching the hardest difficulty in the first day or two. Sabotaging their own content is their design philosophy, apparently.
We have heaps of endgame activities they just need more depth.
The boss ladder is a step in the right direction too
Slowly but surely they are addressing this problem
Instead of challenging I would rather say D2 has a better feedback loop when it comes to replayability. The game hasn’t received any updates for over 20 years, yet people keep coming back to it.
You can level glyphs 50 pit tiers below your glyph level now……at 1% odds.
Haven’t you heard?
You are supposed to chase the dollar at work and purchase stuff off the shop. That’s the end game, apparently.
Can’t have nice things in game to chase after, that’s silly.
