My inventory is getting cluttered oO
Yes! I agree there should be a seperate place for gems. Doesnt really have to a an extra tab, can just be put into like a virtual bank, but i guess some people would wonder how would we add a gem to a socket item? There could be a system where when right clicking an item theres an option to add gem to socket and opens a new window and we pick what gem to add in, simple.
No.
Inventory and what you keep/disenchant/salvage/sell/trade is part of the game. You have limited choices for a reason. This includes your stash. It makes you think about your stat weight, what are good affixes to keep, what kinds of gems to focus on etc (as a sorc i found diamonds in gear and topaz in weapons in my build to melt face).
Does all this go against my natural tendency to pick up everything in sight and loot hoard? Just because it might be good later when we all know it’s useless for endgame? Why yes other Barry, yes it does.
Be very, VERY, grateful they gave us a consumables and quest item tab instead of THAT cluttering up your bag space.
The history of these things is pretty simple:
You either give people an adequate amount of storage in your loot based game or people will seek other alternatives that are generally even less desirable.
But you can buy for golds another tab in your stash, and gems are directly usable to be upgraded from the PNJ without you needing to have them in inv. What more, no?
Gems should be treated like a crafting reagent. We’ve got a tab for all the different herbs and crafting resources (like ores).
Gems should be no different. It feels bad that they don’t do this.
I agree they should be separate in some way. Imagine finding a Gem Hoarder like in D3 (assuming it exists). Your inventory would be almost full just from his drops.
Also doesn’t feel too balanced that a Gem takes the same space as a 2h weapon in your inventory
Yup this is pretty much what I want to see too.
Especially stupid is that gems also take 2 inventory slots…
I think gems isnt in the crafting reagent tab because you use them to put in sockets.
its like they (blizzard) knows we always complain about certain currency tabs, but for some reason will not do it. looks like another full tab of gems and keys like in d2. they just refuse to address the issue it seems.
edit: at least its stackable…
Gems have been intentionally designed/implemented this way. They are not going to budge on it unfortunately.
Inventory very cluttered, by the way.
Fresh stash tabs here, only $5 each!!
Diablo3 seasons had additional stash tab unlocks as part of their rewards.
That was my first thought too but if we look at other games for example Hero Siege, they dont have gems in thier inventory space, they are treated like how herbs and ores are treated in D4, and whenever you want to socket an item you just need to right click it and an option to socket the item would appear and then a window would pop up and you can choose what gem to add. This way you reduce or fix gem clutter in your inventory.
It’s worth noting that you can teleport to town from anywhere, and I’ve personally never had to leave behind a legendary item due to limited inventory space. However, I do understand that some players may find it challenging to manage their inventory, and it can be frustrating.
