A while back I criticized you for ignoring the forum and prioritizing the reddit communities. At the time I was hooked on the “officialness” of the forums and hadn’t spent much of any time at all on Reddit.
I decided to give it a go and the diablo community on reddit is markedly different than on these forums. To use a cliche, it’s night and day. So as I’ve pulled back my own engagement on this forum I wanted to take back my earlier criticism and acknowledge that you were right.
This post isn’t really for anyone else, but I imagine the rest of the comments in this thread will be filled with toxic vitriol, only further proving the point. Feel free to lock this thread as soon as you’ve seen it.
Ah yes, Reddit. The place where you can literally silence someone just because you disagree with them. People that want an echo-chamber naturally gravitate there. No wonder Blizzard’s marketing department prefers that medium.
Reddit is by far the worst of the worst echo chamber of talking points
Let me guess, they’re still talking like removing cages or reducing number of prisoners will suddenly “reinvigorate” the game
I mean I won’t even, ah yes the “powers” discussion too, as if S9’s powers don’t have an enormous potential to literally fix most of the problems regarding lack of flexibility for skills in the game
I mean, if Reddit was their place to get feedback from I can get it why it took them so long to actually do right things (that makes a perfect sense actually)
Your trying to say reddit is more level headed than this forum is the issue that will be attacked because anyone who has ever been on reddit knows your smoking something
I’d say there’s far more negativity on these forums, where as Reddit it gets snuffed out unless it’s presented in a funny way. Not to say that posts here aren’t removed mind you. They absolutely are, and the CM’s have been cracking down more on trolling behavior.
Not that everything on the d4 Reddit is sunshine and rainbows mind you, but it’s obvious they try and keep it more positive over there. While these forums tend to be more negative, it’s just another side of the player base is all.
Adam said a few years ago that they would be moving away from the forums and onto other platforms. If I recall he said it before the D4 and Immortal forums were even a thing. So, the nonsense on this forum was not the reason.
Correct, they did say that. Doesn’t mean they don’t visit them for feedback, that’s what the CMs job is, but it is obvious they gather information from just about every source they can find. Which is also why some on the forum feel as if they’re being ignored.
They only see that their ideas and feedback are being ignored and they haven’t looked at all the other sources of information. No I don’t just mean streamers either. The community for D4 is bigger than just these forums though. Contrary to what others may think.
True, the forum has a few dozen regulars. Some of us have been around since the beginning. Others come and go some droop off to be replaced by new people. We even have a group who do not even play the game but always have something to say.
