So, despite owning the ultimate edition of Diablo 4 for the xbox, and having hundreds of hours in Diablo 3 on both the xbox and PC, and having my batle-net and Microsoft accounts properly linked… your forums refuse to acknowledge that I own Diablo 4, and thus can’t post in those forums?
Would be nice to be able to, so I can ask for MS store issue clarifications, or just chat about the game itself before launch…
ALSO: the term battle-dot-net is NOT a URL, it’s the name of a site AND has been the name of the service for 20 years now…
On which forum have you tried to post? D4’s Console or D4’s PC forum? As an Xbox customer you should be able posting on the D4 Console part (I’m not anymore allowed to post on the console, given I just bought the game on PC, unless if it’s about editing a previous post I made there).
Diablo 3 doesn’t count when it’s about posting on D4 forum (we may find this sad, but that’s the way Blizzard decided it)
Maybe writing battle.net isn’t yet allowed for you given you aren’t yet granted a high enough forum trust level (TL), but as soon as your TL is high enough it shouldn’t be a problem anymore (I must confess that new comers to the forum should get an exception for “battle.net” not being treated as an url). I can’t remember if TL1 (very quick to get) or TL2 (not too hard to get) is required for a limited list of trusted urls (for example www .youtube. com is one of the allowed ones - in this case, I added the spaces on purpose to avoid it’s transformation into a link with picture), TL3 which is a lot harder to get allows a lot more things.
All I know is that I bought Diablo 4 for my xbox series S, and had a legitimate question about the way it pre-loads, and was unable to ask that question on the actual official forums dedicated to that game, from the game’s own studio.
Considering that my battle-net account goes back to at least Star Craft Broodwar in 1999, since I clearly recall having to connect to the service for that, and Diablo II, and Warcraft II BNE, it seems like maybe I should have a “trust level” of some kind?
I used to post in the forums fairly often when I played World of Warcraft over the decades. But, I guess past history and $5 will buy you a small coffee these days.
It appears that only PC users have access to anything but this forum at this time.
Look in the console forum, no activity at all for 16 hours.
I know the spammers were out in force on both forums for the last couple of weeks, so I’m thankful they finally locked them, but they need to let us console players in too.
The Trust level is bound to the relatively recent forum system, it has nothing to do with the number of years your Blizzard games / number of (old) Blizzard games you own (I also played SC1, Diablo II, Warcraft 2, the DOS version, not the BNE, and many more, but when I began posting on the new forum system, I had to level up my TL as anyone else to unlock some forum features (and unfortunately US / EU-EN / EU-FR are considered as different so if I wish posting on D4 PC on all the 3 with high TL, the TL must be earned separately on each one rather than once for all… while it’s not a great issue for TL-2 & below, for TL-3 it’s a much greater issue, for someone who wish to get the last customer’s level, TL-4 being reserved for Blizzard’s employees). It’s rather a matter of what you do or don’t do on the new forum system, since when you do it and how often, and with some interfactions with other members. Feel free reading https://blog.discourse.org/2018/06/understanding-discourse-trust-levels/ and https://blog.discourse.org/2016/12/discourse-new-user-tips-and-tricks/ for more details about the system (even if Blizzard adapted some parts of it to its own needs). (as you can see, my TL here isn’t high enough for posting these links, even if before WoW launch I used to be part of the 6 first MVPs on the very old Blizzard-made forum, it’s gone… the only remaining track of my past deeds is https://classic.battle.net/war3/credits.shtml here, even the credits on old WoW official guide is gone)
With your Xbox license you can’t post anymore on the D4 PC section, but you should be allowed to post on the console section (if you can’t it may be due to a bug). (on my side, I used to be able posting on the console section but not anymore, either because I don’t own a PS/Xbox license or maybe due a temporary bug).
