So the first time I heard this suggested I did not find it very appealing. My immediate thought went to the fact that when I’m planning to build a new char ill sometimes start acquiring items ahead of time and if I get a better one ill sell or in some cases re-sell the earlier one.
Today I saw this diablo.trade/user/66bbce59572a6ce2bacbb703/items and it made me completely rethink the acceptability of account bound on trade.
What do you all think? would it be worth doing this to stop people like this from monopolizing certain items and making the inflation problem even worse?
A few days ago you could get a GA lucky hit and CDR Talrasha with a usable leg bonus (76+) for 25-40B, then this person bought them all and jacked it up to 100-280B
Prices always get wild near the end of a season. But personally, I would like to see items become account bound on trade. Item flipping shouldn’t be a thing.
I think items should be always tradeable. I would like if I could sall my older item if I get better.
But considering after you MW/temper item it is untradeable anyway. That is lost case anyways.
Bcs of that I would like SB after trade bcs it won´t change my problem but it would prevent fliping.
I love open trade and it is must have in decent aRPG. But I don´t like when players exploiting it.
That is the trade mark of a gold seller. They buy out large quantities of items, Then inflate the price several hundred to thousands %. And then people buy gold from the same people who inflate the prices. It’s win win for the seller. They sell gold then that same gold is used to buy the item(s). This is why i do not trade. If i don’t get the best gear oh well. Life goes on and so does the game.

I don’t see how this is needed.
Step back from the “I NEED this GA item for my build” ledge and consider it from an all items perspective.
Why should someone not be able to resell something just because they bought it from someone else?
Everything becomes account bound when you temper or mw to use for yourself. Inherently this means the things you can sell you are not using.
And we are also assuming “sell”, some people just give things to their friends…and if they bought something potentially useful for themselves but did NOT brick their first option, now they can’t give the backups to their friends who would find it useful?
Controlling Prices is not the best of ideas in open market, and even if you did want to do it, there are other ways than just fabricating limiting rules around the trade process.

Yeah this is the sort of reason I didn’t like the idea at first glance. But it is maddening that one person can make an item virtually unobtainable for most players just for their own greed/profit
similar to my Alt trade currency post I’m hoping to foster discussion and maybe surface some ideas that could help the issue.

Negative. If things are bound on trade, time to double storage as items wont stack now. Think it would be pretty lame to have double stacks of mats that arent compatible and special icons to show whats bound and not.
Blizz cant even make proper chat channels, no way they could implement this cleanly
OOOF! didn’t even think about stackable items. Yeah this would likely be a mess.
Maybe only GA unique get the bind on trade?
Items should 100% bind on trade. This would eliminate all flipping and help fix prices.
The idea is growing on me. I still don’t really like it for reasons stated above but it seems like a possibly acceptable middle ground between “Remove Trade” and “There is no Problem with the current state of trade”
