About inarius and his end

like someone said earlier, angels are reborn in heaven but as a new spirit. demons are reborn in hell the same as they were, or at least the stronger ones do. we dont exactly know the effect of an angel dying in hell but most likely itll just be reborn in heaven or however the story needs to play out.

Not exactly at some point the Crystal Arch would produce a new angel with part of the essence of a fallen one (Lightsong). So, it is not like Inarius will return to the high heaven as himself not like “I’m back did you miss me.”

Prolly the Inarus we know is dead and a new fresh angel slapped with a name Inarus is born.

That “you belong in hell!” Sounded so powerful to me btw.

Did he really die? I thought the wings were ripped off and he was pulled down into the floor to be a prisoner again.

Removing his wings does not kill him it was done before.

Mephisto took Inarius to the Burning Hells. He bound Inarius with tremendous chains and slowly tore the wings from the back of the angel. Great barbed hooks were then used to stretch out his once glowing skin and his features were distorted by vile powers.

Maybe because he was also impaled

Poor guy has his wings tore twice… must be painful. :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope they have some senses and don’t kill him . He is a lot better build that decard cain and he is an elite warrior so I hope they make him back to archangel .

Perhaps he can be the leader of a new class , they had the paladin in D2 , the Crusader in D3 so I’d guess the Templar will be the holy warrior class in D4.

Maybe he left the horadrim to train a new breed of holy tempars for the war to come and eventually get injured or something but his brethren angles decide that they need him again so they turn him back into archangel so he can lead the army of light vs evil.

One can dream lol

I don’t think she killed him.

I think Prava and the knights were useless. If Inarius had an army of Paladins/Crusaders that had the abilities and skills like they do in game the fight would have been different.

Impervious was impaled by Diablo back in Diablo 3 and he survived. Inarius could possibly be still alive and just imprisoned in Hell again.

He’s waiting for a revive so he doesn’t have to pay for wing repair costs

Tyrael is off dealing with something else.

As for Inarius, Lilith said he belongs here in hell…then tore his wings off. I assume that the act either damned him to revive within hell, binding him to the Black Abyss, like demons, or turned him mortal…trapping his mortal soul in hell.

Tyrael became a mortal because his chose to become a mortal.

He didn’t become a mortal because Imperius ripped his wings off. He lost his wings because the Heart of Anu cut him off from the source of his existence.

it also isn’t clear if Tyrael would age. Aging is something applies to humans but Tyrael isn’t a human. He could have an ageless body akin to that of a demon which still has biological functions but does not have cells which stop reproducing to prevent issues from genetic degeneration.

If you beat the campaign a 2nd time there is a very short post credits scene.

Spoiler:

of a daemon poking his head out of lava, i didn't take a screenshot but i'm sure you can find one on the Diablo subreddit.

Found it: [SPOILER!] Reddit - Dive into anything

Thought I’d clear it up, really quick, since a lot of media isn’t expressed in the games itself, and you have to look through various mediums to find it.

Lorath doesn’t know where Tyrael is.
Tyrael departs the Horadric Vault an unknown (but one would assume short) amount of time after he recruits Donan, assuming all would be well. All that’s particularly known of it is that Tyrael appear to be behaving as if he feared something that was yet to come, which could’ve been Lilith, or another threat, perhaps fearing the reformation of the Lesser and Prime Evils, since they’d been released as a result of slaying Mathael after he empowered himself with the Black Soulstone.
As it stands, even we as players don’t even know if Tyrael is dead, or where he is, or rests.

If it’s still functional.
Tyrael noticed in the events prior to Reaper of Souls that the Crystal Arch’s song was discordant, and so were was the new angel it produced in that instance. We don’t even know if it’s still functional at this time.

This is kinda my idea I hold, personally.
When Tyrael was gathering the first members of the reborn Horadrim and scouting the Drowned Temple, the woods actually intentionally lead him astray, because he had no Nephalem blood within him, but it opened the way once he allowed a human (nephalem) to lead, suggesting that Tyrael might be mortal, but he’s definitely not human in the same way natural born Sanctuary humans are. He’s effectively a narrative wild card, right now.

Either way, ultimately, it’s hard to pin down what Inarius’ final fate will end up being.
His soul could’ve been completely devoured by the Realm of Hatred, effectively just becoming another wall to strike down unsuspecting Horadrim members, or it could be getting tortured.

Specifics of angelic death aside… Wow was that sort of a let down. I don’t think I can readily think of another game character to get a good chunk of 2 games and a book or two worth in set up… only to take his first meaningful action and die in basically a few minutes. I mean: I got the message (as subtle as a jackhammer) that he was wrong and it would have been sort of a waste if we’d done all that work only for teh angel to swoop in and defeat Lilith… but wow: I expected him to do SOMETHING.

He did something alright… he whined about the Heavens before getting stabbed and got wings torn off.

Lilith said that he belong to Hell while she ripping his wings. I have a feeling he ended up in Hell.

That’s true angels can be corrupted - eg Izual from D2-D3. We know Mephisto is going to play a role in the expansions. I was a bit bummed we didn’t get to beatdown Diablo for a 4th time - but Mephisto makes for a cool villain too.
