A skin is never worth half the price of a game

Stop contributing to the problem.

On the flip side loving this season like last season.

What problem? A skin is optional. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it.

I don’t own a single premium skin, myself. But I don’t begrudge others if that’s how they choose to spend their money.

If people are so dumb/rich to pay for it, why Blizz would not exploit them?

Zt is like that stories about grannies send their lfe saving to “vetaran” from other half of world bcs he wants to marry them. Feel no pitty for them

The good thing is everyone gets to decide for themselves if it is worth it or not. If enough people decide its too expensive then the price will come down.

This is exactly the kind of attitude that lets them get away with highway robbery. It’s fine if you dont personally care but pretending it’s not a valid problem is nonsense.

it isnt. people who find the price excessive can just opt to not buy anything from the shop. those who have money to spare can. its that simple. no problem

Okay Mr. Richy Pants $25 is fine for a miniscule cosmetic…do you have a personal secretary doing your forum posts for you too?

Lol

Yes it is a problem. A game takes years to make. Skin can probably be made by one guy in one day. And one guy will earn more money than entire team of developers, musicians, voice actors, storywriters?

Microtransactions already changed gaming industry for the worse. We are now waiting 12 years for another GTA game while we were getting new one in 2 years before. And don’t get me started on whole mobile gaming. I tried it and those games are just unplayable for me.

And commenting semantical corrections on an obvious exaggeration to make a point is pedantic in the extreme.

Exaggeration/hyberbole are often considered the same.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with game charging what ever price it wants for cosmetics

See here’s the thing. I work hard, I’ve spent the past 20+ years working on my career to allow myself to put a roof over my head and food on the table. Once all my obligations are met and savings contributed to what’s left over I get to do whatever the hell I want with. Some random person on a game forum doesn’t get to tell me not to buy a cosmetic I want.

Is it?

Try other sources. There tons of stuff that’s not on internet forums that’s way more amazing.

Explain the problem, other than you can’t afford the optional (and in my opinion, pointless) skins.

Actually, the relatively high shop price are a problem. Since such transactions are now considered industry norm, their potential sales are figured into the Return on Investment (ROI) of a game or franchise. If shop sales are insufficient to meet management and/or investor expected ROI, that leads to less future investment in the game for expansions and development.

Or has been seen with another Blizzard property (OW2), insufficient shop sales have led to the suspension of developer bonuses. Which leads to unhappy development teams, which can lead to lower quality work. Or experienced developers leaving for greener pastures and having to bring in less experienced talent.

The shop pricing is a problem, and expressing dissatisfaction with it is a legitimate issue.

Also remember that all those skins take your drive space you paid for but you don’t have access and can’t use it without additionally paying for them lmao.
