A singleplayer game disguised as an MMO? where is the MMO element?

this game does not really encourage group play , its mostly a solo experience

unless you got a group of friends on discord, you dont have a way to get a group going for dungeon or farming, there is no dedicated way to chat in global chat or find people to play with INGAME,

you cannot trade legendaries even in party as the dungeon goes on which is very poor decision making, i understand you do NOT want to have it a thing to trade everywhere and prevent botting and buying from websites, but not able to trade legendaries with your friend when in a party should NOT be a thing…

i also noticed as a rogue that my friend as a sorcerer used a chance to proc fireball and meteors on hit but apparently that buff worked for me as well, everytime i rush in and start blasting i can now cast fireballs and meteors down from his procs but he is the only one seeing the dmg numbers, so im proccing off him which is NOT intended,

it seems like the group aspect and MMo aspect is very limited, its literally not group friendly nor is this a place you can trade or show off transmogs or skins or anything,

it makes me think that as great as the game is there is TONS of stuff that was cut from the final game to make way for launch…

not only that but a huge thing they promised but NEVER delivered was that your skills would alter theyre aoe and appearance as they level up, but even a fully ranked 10 frost nova does NOT change in size or effect. nor does fireball or meteor, or any skill, it was heavily shown in videos how they implemented it.

Well the truth is that if you aren’t using discord or reddit or friends, then you only have yourself to blame. Between friends and family on discord and randos in my clan, there is always content to tackle with people. Yesterday someone on reddit asked for help with Duriel… we’ve probably done 6-8 hours of dungeon grinding since. Never knew the guy. But it took 5 seconds to add him and hop in a game. THAT aspect of the online play is really well done by Blizz. But then there’s the MMO point that you mention…

You are right that ingame systems don’ t bring people together organically. It’ s kind of a joke to label this an MMO or MMO lite. Any player not associated to my clan or friends list is basically temporary furniture.

I even played with a stranger the other day. We were emoting, helping each other with mobs. Then we crossed into an adjacent zone and he phased out of my game. Never heard of him again. Pathetic for a game that makes online play a selling point.

Half-baked bullcrap.

I mean, it’s not unreasonable to expect a group finder when we had one in D3 11 years ago. Even if it was just for dungeons it would be a welcome feature.

if blizz went out of their way to force open world mmo lite game on us , then it should at least have had a group finder and global chat , or why bother with the open world aspect at all ,

the pvp zone doesnt have the banter that goes with it like in d2 ,that was always a fun part of it ,

the world they created looks great but is so devoid of any real life , they just as well have had it as a single player offline game ,

Unreasonable no. I completely agree with you. But its also the case that players are less social online with strangers than 10-15 years ago. The age of discord and everyone owns a headset but no one uses voice chat in games is a frustrating one.

Its an abomination in 2023 to not have a group finder system.

From ESO to Fortnite, majority of online games have some form if not fully fleshed out matchmaking systems. Even their black sheep Diablo Immortal has matchmaking.

This is greed.

Utilize the license, make a bland story to push lore, use pop music to advertise coz no real substance in story, no new enemy variations, nothing visually escalates to that wow factor, and then add level scaling to create a 2nd job grind and finally compliment it with a cash shop.

Nothing else beyond this it seems.

Account limitations are because people exploit mechanics… noone likes a twink… it immitates realism. An mmo is just alot of people… running around.

The game does need more social stuff… but it is an mmo… wow is just a server full of people playing by themselves.

Should be nowhere. This is Diablo.

Add group finder. its 2023
