A sincere question for Blizzard. And some personal feedback. :)

Have you played your game as a singleplayer on console without any developertools and predefined characters and actually thought " wow, this game is fun to play right at this moment"?!!

I know haters will come to your defense here shortly and say all the ‘git gud, learn to play’ and so on but I don’t care. I’m 56 and I been playing this gameseries since I meet 2 Blizzard “dudes” on a PCshow in Stockholm Sweden back in 1996, about 3 months before Diablo 1 released. Got a signed CD with a time limited demo of the game. (Could play up to level 20 and for max 1 hour). They gave me a cheatcode so I could unlock entire game for 10 hours at the time before I had to restart the “demo”. Good times.

Sorry for nostalgic rant, just wanted to say, I played all Diablo games for thousands of hours and this is the first time I don’t have fun at all.

I’m just a regular man with adult childrens so I have the time and opportunity to play alot each day.
So far I’m up to 2871 hours according to my PS5 Pro on Diablo 4 / Vessel Of Hatred and that means nothing in the end, just to show that I have actually played your game before I came here to makes some personal reflections on it.

So my experience overall:
Important note, I’m a 100% single player, ‘soloself-found’ if you like so no illegal trading sites, no friends that helps out with farming, donating stuff and so on and that is why I ask if you guys at Blizzard actually played your own game the way me and many others do? No cheats, just long gaming sessions trying to get your character to be the best possible each season. ( I completed all 9 seasonspasses/journey up to date).
So, my personal experience is this:

  • Leveling is fine , for the first character. But when I play my HC characters and they die due mostly to random bugs (Duriel teleports ontop on me and oneshots me and crap like that) it’s really booooring to level another one just to get back in the action in the endgame again. Please make alt-leveling a little faster (why did you nerf Whispercache XP on lower torments? Took 30 torment 1 cache’s to level an alt, now it takes about 45… not worth it.)

*Loot. O boy :frowning: , I got one Mythic Unique last season and zero on world/boss drops this season. And when I get 2 sparks and use all my gold, 50 million or whatever, it makes a totally random USELESS one that noone will use in their build. (Spear of Lycander).
I hardly ever get the Uniques I need for my builds, and if they drop, well greater affixes seems to be removed from the game as of late? I got 6 Vasily’s prayer over my 2 HC druids Paragon 243 and one had a single greater affix, thank god it was on the right stat!

So next point:

  • Why is it so hard to get materials for Uber Bosses. I run Helltides for 8 hours ( 8 x 55 minutes) and get less than 400 Bloods and 297 Living Steel and even less Fears…
After that I play uberbosses nonstop and get a few tries a Belial and 99,9% PURE CRAP.
And not a single Uber Mythic, not even a useless one I can break down for mats and a new chance at the Blacksmith…

At the moment it’s not a fun game, so much time spent, so little reward. It’s not a fun game anymore, just a chore, an unpaid betatesting job. Please make a Solo Self found mode, no multiplayer BS, no trade, nothing like that, up the drop rates ALOT and just let us have fun for once. The complainers can torture themeselves in current mode and I don’t care, they wont hear from me ever again in that case. And make bossmaterials drop from more sources please. Helltide is boring after that “Helltide season”. I got burned out on it to be honest. I know it can be found outside Helltides but the droprates are abyssmal.

  • Crafting: make it possible to delete useless stats on items for a cost. Make it possible to rip out great stats and transfer them to another item. Make tempering not giving you the same option for 5 tries in a row!! That’s just lazy programming. Much more can be said about this but I wont at this time.

  • The Pit / Glyphs to level 100/ and Paragon 300:
Just make it easier overall. At least during seasons. You shortened the seasons to 2 months, down from 3. And you made it even harder to level everything! This doesn’t make sense to me! Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
And if you want to cater for the people that like to abuse themselves, why cant you make a ladder with harder setting just for those. That way all would be happy, right?!

*Lasty I would like to ask 2 questions:

  1. How is it possible for people to brag in their posts on this forum how they buy bossmaterials for real money on online sites and run the bosses for 1000+ times and they are not banned from the game and forums as that is totally against your own ToS??
And if you balance the game around their experience , we fairplay players will just have an even harder time to enjoy the game…

  2. Can the teamleader of your D4 team copy my HC and SC character from my account this season, copy it over to an PS5(Pro) WITHOUT any developertools, preloaded stats and so on, and just play them for 10 hours each and see how fun you think your game is?
Try to get boss materials, run the helltides, nightmare dungeons, do whispers and try to find upgrades and Uber Mythics. See how you games actually affects a NORMAL player without your own tools / online cheats and trading/ and as a singleplayer.

You will cry yourself to sleep tonight. I promise you that.

I hope someone at BLizzard actually reads this and takes a serious thought about how players like me have it, and have been for most time since the games released.

Thank’s all for the time.
Take care and may the lootgods be with you.

*Bonus question: Is the gamebalanced the same on PC and on Consoles? I have a better druid build than Maxroll (Pulverize druid) and they state and show in video it can do Pit over level 100 and I get oneshot with full resistances in Pit Tier 65 WTF?!!?!
My HC can’t do over Pit 60 - how would that get me to max glyphs /paragon in a season?
Just a thought…

A lot is incrementally worse this season for sure. The weighting of bad affixes and bad gear in general over good and the likelihood of bricking tempering for a couple.

I think 95% of people who play this game do so for fun and 5% or less play it for the challenge. Why then are changes always made to increase the challenge and never to increase the possible fun?

The game also is baaaadly in need of the occasional surprise happening.

I’m with you. Though, I saw the game becoming predictably tedious long before it’s release, when they started talking about 3 month seasons. Combine that with everything else you mentioned, this game has become a chore. Nothing fun about it, which is why I’ve probably only played a couple hours over the last couple of seasons.

The biggest problem I have with the game, is that it feels like it’s catering specifically to the esport crowd and not the average gamer.

For someone that states have played D1 forever, you seem not to know how D games work…
Let me ask, how much time have you spent in D1 before get any rare gear?

ANY build can do just fine without Mythics.

For what??? SO they make the season last 1 month?

And why you need to max everything???

I don’t get it, as a long time D franchise veteran, you want everything FF, opossite to D1 & D2…

I’m also a D franchise “veteran”, and for me D4 is almost just fine… AMTOF, it should even be harder…

Seems like a long rant of I don’t want to take the time or put in the effort to learn the game and do what I have to do to get good, I only wanna do what I want to do and get to be the best at everything, and for a 56 year old man that doesn’t enjoy the game logging in over 2500 hours is insane

@MarkLoretta8
So I don’t want to put in the work and I play the game to much? Right, that makes sense… not.

You don’t put the work in to get better at the game, you obviously don’t even put the work into reading, you just see what you want, if you played 2500+ hours and can’t max out glyphs in a week or 2, be able to get billions of dollars and farm enough of whatever you want, you haven’t actually put in any effort to get good at the game, which if all you want to do is play the game however you want that is fine, keep the difficulty low and do w/e you want in the game, that is awesome. If you want to actually get good and get the best gear and best aspects and max out your glyphs there are ways to do all that easily, and tons of online resources to show you how to do it, but you choose not to learn how the game works (and NO this doesn’t just mean partying up and getting walked through everything) This is my third full season, it started on on 1st, I have 1 character with 100 glyphs, 2 more characters with 70-85, fully masterworked gear, mostly pretty good stuff, not perfect but I also play with a few different characters so I’m not focusing solely on one guy. I’m sorry you just wanna cry about how the game isn’t exactly how you want, but you obviously have loved this game to put 2500 hours in, if not you’re an extreme loser to be able to do something you hate for that much at 56 years old (or any age really) Seriously there are thousands of other games that could be played or even better go outside and get some fresh air every now and again.

Just put that guy on ignore. He only plays overpowered meta builds and takes advantage of the dupe economy and calls that skill.

He’s got nothing to contribute to honest conversation about D4s problems.

@Hex The way he calls me loser and whatnot because I have some (in my opinion fair-)critisism of D4 I totally think you are right.
Everytime he post in any of my threads I get a slew of that underlying hate and vitriol of his. If I knew how to block him I would for sure, but I just screenshot his posts and one day I might contact Blizzard about it and ask why someone can “stalk” me at their forums just to spew all that crap over me and my posts?..
Until then, I hope they balance D4 better for non dupers.
But hey “Hex”, thanks for your support.

@MarkLoretta8 If you really want to help , use your posts to actually describe how you max out your glyphs to 100 w/o any cheat or dupes. I would love to get that help for sure. No “some sites out there”- recommendations. No vague crap like that, just a plain description how YOU do it so fast and effective.
That could actually help me instead of all that passiveaggresive crap you post here about me.

Go to his profile. Under his avatar, there’s a box that says “Normal”. Change it to “Muted” or “Ignore”.

If someone has their profile set to private, go to your profile and then to the Gear icon. Scroll the sub-menus until you find users. Add them in the Ignored or Muted section.

Wow, a huge thanks my friend!!
Edit: I will actually use that on some other “characters” on these forums, people that like to hear their own voices a little too much and that just wants to stir up something.
I will enjoy these forums alot better from now on thanks to you!!
