@11:02
The season of change! Tiffany Wat and Rod Fergusson of Blizzard joins us for a chat about the community, balance changes, and jokes about a Paladin. Timestamps: 00:00 How much of the campaign do you need to complete before you can get into Vessel of Hatred? 01:43 What is the process of choosing whether or not to the previous season mechanics were added to the core game? 06:27 What are the big points of feedback that the team is looking for to address once Vessel of Hatred is out? 08:19 What’s the reception been like? You know, seeing a sort of split between the excitement of a new class, a desire for their old favorites. 11:02 What’s the cadence of expansions? 11:45 What was the goal behind the new dungeon activity?

Nice find Avalon.
By the way, how do you post vids in the video format like that? Is that a higher tier thing?
I, on the other hand, am awaiting the Iggi-notes.
You gotta wait for Daddy/Mommy/Parent Blizzard to give you permission.

Is Rod backtracking on annual expansions now it appears he cannot even remember what he said last year.

There under Microsoft. not to mention not long after the merge, Activision Blizzard were hit with cutbacks of employees just in the beginning of the year.
That may have been the hope before the merge with Microsoft. Or the plan would stick but perhaps those cutbacks made it so that can’t promise that?

That might be the case but in the clip he is asking the interviewer if he ever said it “officially.” Which he did! “So, as we look at our quarterly seasons, and we look at our annual expansions, those are the things that we’re really focused on for our live service.”

The reinforcement mechanic sounds really cool, i hope solo players can use that too as a option versus taking the full companion if we choose, i think if not, that would be neat to add.
Looks cool, i am pretty keen to see it released.
It sounds to me like you get both the active companion if you want and the reinforcement companion.
I am really looking forward to the mercenary system, plus the spirit guardians. It should be interesting.

Companies are also allowed to change their minds if they feel something is not a good fit. Which, given how things have been going this past year might be a good thing.

Super interesting find. They’re obviously waiting to see the expansion’s sales numbers.
There’s been a shift in scope here, undeniably. D4 is clearly not doing as good as some might have thought. Something many of us have been saying since S2.
Must be those malignant tunnels. They got to him!
Of note, Tiffany confirms here that the active/hired mercenary will not be available in a group, just like in D3. There was some confusion about this on Reddit from the info given so far

Thanks for the reference. I clearly remember him saying yearly expansions on top of seasons. I was about to go hunt for it.

They did state they were “looking at” yearly expansions, but my feeling was always 18-24 months. Blizzard time, and all that.
true, She does say however that in a group you get the merc reinforcement though. which is bound to a skill, in the example given or something like that it sounded open to a couple of choices but she wasn’t specific.
Unless it was discussed later in the video i only watched half, but they were talking about the citadel and playing co-op.
You get the Reinforcement effect in a group, but you don’t get the Hired mercenary.

yes. that is what i said.
Was just clarifying so people don’t read your post and think, its a completely ignored feature of the game if you group.
But yeah there is no mercs and doing black citadel solo. If people are confused. From how i was hearing.
so d3 style garbage mercs pretty much been confirmed.
as expected lol, d3 copy paste remains d3 copy paste
