Just wanted to let everyone know, Hellhammer’s fire damage effect scales with % core skill damage. CotA/Leap/Upheaval build has potential and is worth expermenting with if you have Hellhammer. YMMV.
Does it now, interesting. I’m running a leap/upheaval/CotA build on my alt for fun and just to try out different things.
I haven’t tried the hell hammer on them yet as I need to hit 65 first (only 60 ATM) or get one to drop for my alt.
I have my doubts about it being useful past WT3 but who knows till I try it.
It does, it scales with your attack power too. It’s consider part of Upheaval’s damage, not It’s own spell. Whether that makes up for the otherwise medicore affixes on the weapon, that I’m unsure of. I haven’t tested it extensively yet myself. I’m also unsure if the damage ticks can proc Ancients from that ancestral echo aspect or not. It should in theory.
that’s interesting, but does it also then scale whit our 60% and 30% aspects that scales our core damage if so that can be decent.
I’m not entirely sure which aspects you’re talking about specifically, so I don’t know. I haven’t tested it yet that extensively.
barb has 2 aspects that buffs your next core damage the first one is based on how many skill hits you have done up to 30% core damage the other one is based on when your at max fury you get 2-4% more damage up to 60% on 2 handed weapon if you can get them and test if the wep effect gets effected by it it might change things for barb
Oh Limitless rage and Edgemasters, duh. Sorry i stroked out for a minute. They should work with it, yeah. I’ll test it the next time I have time to play. My understanding is that anything that directly scales core skill damage should also scale the effect from Hellhammer.
It should scale with main stat though, core skill damage is only on weapons, so you have 3 weapons to roll that on. Not enough to really make a big enough damage increase.
All those flat damage based legendary or unique power should definitely scale with all type of damage bonus. Now I understand it’s tricky to control how it scales. But, hey, who decides to implement tens of bonus types ?? … Vulnerable, Core damage, close damage, range damage, crit damage, strengh scaling, to bleeding enemies, to ccontroled ennemies, to stuned ennemies, to slowed ennemies, to frozen, to chilled, to poisoned, to… Aaaahhhh it’s becoming a tornado, help meeeeeeeee ! ![]()
Blizz make it overcomplicated, they had to deal with this design now or make it more simple and doing so more easily controlable.
