A fun starter build

Hey folks, I have been playing around with season 9 skills and came across a pretty fun Level 1 build for all classes.

If you are on a new Alt because your build isn’t working, or just want to fast track Level 35 to start using your collection of mythics, this is the best fast start I have found.

This build allows you to easily start your level one, grey-geared Alt at penitent level without even spending any skill points. All you need is a few runes and Cosmic Anomaly.

I like to find places where there is a lot of enemy spawn and just camp there and let my summoned army do all the work.

I should also point out that obviously this build works best with Druid, Sorc and Necromancer since they have all the Summons-based bonuses that can help extend this build all the way to level 35+ without much trouble.

I’d like to find out how far you could carry this do-nothing build without even spending skill points.

Is it really a challenge if you are just copying a guide from the internet? Anyone can gain the first 10-15 levels of a first (and definitely an alt) character without doing any skill points and using the gear you start with pretty easily. Just do any sort of quest right away, not like there’s any sort of penalty for dying.

If you can level faster with grey gear and no skills at penitent level then this build isn’t for you. shrug

I’m not saying I can level faster. I’m saying it takes 20-30 mins to get to level 15 on hard. Just doing nothing but using what you start with.

And if it’s an alt you should probably have elixirs (I always hold onto elix of tailwind, no lvl restriction and 8%), you should be able to make crappy gems, have some runes, some obuls and just all around more resources.

Maybe learn a bit while the game is at its easiest, read what skills and passives do rather than copy and paste from YouTube from level 1. :man_shrugging:

But that’s just me, to each their own, good luck.

Hehe thats creative. Gotta try it in helltides.

I don’t enjoy leveling alts, that’s why I threw gold at it and my Sorc went from 1 - 60 in about 20 minutes in the pit.

And then I had like 50 bags of obols that got me geared up.

MarkLoretta8-1794,

I think you are arguing for no apparent reason. This is a fun, novel little starter build for blasting through the early levels of D4. It’s fun, it’s novel, that is all.

If you don’t like it more than your way of doing it then do it your way, it doesn’t matter to me in the slightest.

Have fun. Do fun things.

Don’t get upset about things like this.

“Why you hef to be mad, is just game?”

I’m sorry if you read that as angry, I didn’t use foul language or write anything derogatory. I was just stating my opinion on the matter, as that is what forums are for. I hold no ill will towards the way anybody plays this game. But good looking out at trying to be my therapist. Have a wonderful day.

Lame attempt to attract people for clicks to a failing YT account.

No thanks. We need less of this not more.

Haha Works very well in helltides. 11 min to lvl 16.
Once you generate a bit of Threat level, you can find a good small hill to stand near.
The Poison Thingy can shoot over and the wolfs also jumps over it so it
prevents you from being over run and helltides spawns new enemies so I ran around for like 5 min and rest was standing still, reading the forum, in windows. :)) Btw on a barb. I was thinking if using merc, you could also get a bit of protection.
I also summoned the maiden and while they could hold against the waves, the maiden obligated them. Thx that was fun to test .

Or you could bank your whisper caches and open them on your alt. Takes about 38 to get to 60 and you get gear, runes, glyphs, and other goodies.

Yeah, you need to pick up some gear eventually to keep it going. I’m still using it as the base of the Spirit Born at level 32, but I switched to fire. I also use the summoning wolf rune combo on my end-game Necro now. Works great for cleaning up the bubbled enemies my Shadow Mages can’t hit.

well i love them wolfs. Vul and freezing is pretty good. The gem that enlarge summons also comes to mind to improve the wolfs damages from start. It actually seems like a smooth way to get to 15 and then go shopping in the Den. Is it faster then allocating skill points and kill stuff yourself. I dont know but it can surely boost the speed also while jumping directly to max tier for a pre 60 char. Good wolfies

He’s just sharing an idea, no need to get down on him for it.

Actually this is a take on the necro minion build. I ran it on a druid build til about lvl 20 mostly junk gear and no skill points allocated. Its a great off the wall starter provided you have those 4 runes. I am adding a skill point every level but I can tell you I have NOT had to use a skill other than evade and potions. Just walk around and it takes care of the kills for you.

Since i play alot of alts for a season for the spark, i decided to take your idea and see what it would do. +1 for the uniqueness of this. Hour and a half on the character i am almost level 30.

I just recommend putting on gear/weapons as you level (you will need the armor at least) do not stay with lvl 1 gear lol.

Yeah, I found that I needed to start adding gear around level 15 or so because the wolves damage dropped precipitously after that. I haven’t tried in lower tiers, so maybe you can actually get further in those since the enemies don’t scale as fast, but you’d level slower.

Maybe I could start a penitent for the fast leveling and then scale back at level 20 or so in order to get get easier enemies? I don’t know… I might try that out.

If the goal is to hit 35 on an alt quickly to wear the mythics, you can probably do it pretty quickly that way.

Necro, Druid and probably Sorc alts work the best with this build since they get access to summons buffs in crafting.

Anyway, glad you found it entertaining!

Edit: Also, thanks for that point about the Whisper cashes. Once you mentioned that method it dawned on me that the cashes give XP on opening them now, not on awarding them. Cool tip!

I will continue to play the way I want, whether it’s following guides or not.

If following a build guide brings any player joy or fun or what ever, then that is good on them. Calling them lazy is illogical Especially if what they do has no direct impact on any other persons game.

Oh he’s following a build guide instead of of figuring out things on their own, he must suck or he’s lazy.

Lol wth. Leave people be.

It’s almost falling into a situation where people judge or berate others for minding their own dam business.

There doesn’t need to be this kind of Elitism in the community.
Period.

it is very interesting indeed, thanks for sharing.

Ok update to this. Yes i am having fun with this. LOL.

I made this into a companion build.

Helm - Shako
Chest - Shroud
Gloves - Electrified Claws aspect
Pants - Spiritbond (for the cannot die part) but the ones with the runes still disappear and reappear
Boots - Slaughter
Amulet - Shepards
Ring 1 - Starless
Ring 2 - Spiritomachy
2 Handed - Stampede (for more wolves)

Currently crushing the leveling. Yes i know i have 3 Mythics but if you are even considering this as the legendary runes are hard to get, you should by now have a mythic or 2. The mythics really arent needed but since i had them, couldnt pass this up.

i started a new character, leveled to 60, still in HARD difficulty, equipped with some magic gears, didn’t put any paragon points, basic skills 5/5, and couldn’t handle the porcupine and snakes outside of Cerrigar! what sort of scaling is this? :scream:
