A chunky druid isn't an archetypal fantasy

Got wheels for those goalposts do ya?

No. Got money for those beautiful fem druid cosmetics. That’s what I have.

This. They can take it or leave it.

My only complaint about the chonk is that it looks like they were designed on standard aspect ratio and then stretched to fit widescreen.

It wouldn’t be 0 effort, but it isn’t impossible. Tons of games have body options you can even think of it like WoW which has 11 races plus gender options. Give a few extra body types is extremely reasonable. Obviously not by launch but by an expansion it is doable and more importantly to Blizzard it would be profitable

Odds are it would be even doable by launch if they hire a designer or two. These are 3D meshes, with textures over them, resizing them, especially shrinking them in the case of the druid (lol) is not a large amount of design work.

Perhaps so. But on the wow comparison, there’s a difference in graphical styles. They mostly just stretch and scale and it works for cartoon wow. Wouldn’t work here. Would need to be done by hand.

Good for you if you get what you want. At least you’re realistic about the kind of timeline it could happen in.

My friend, they are not doing this by hand. There are powerful design suites for that. You can go onto youtube and see people designing scalabe 3D assets with build in deformers from scratch in 30 minutes.

I call that done by hand. I don’t mean they use no tools and draw on one hand using only the blood they can extract from the other. I mean you get a person on the tools working through each piece.

So… Can you like, apply for a job there and save us?
Because it seems like you’re the only one here who would be able to.

Khan for president

I would be overjoyed to be able to play druid at launch but I’m pretty much resigned to not being able to. I just hope topics like this get traction and the devs take serious consideration about it. They go on and on about choice and how they want us to play what we want they even don’t want leaderboards to affect what people play. Lack of creation tools making people not play a class seems counter to the entire philosophy

Ok. That is not a negligible amount of work, but not a huge project either.

But they don’t need to rush it to launch. It would be enough for me if they acknowledge the problem and promise us body shape options by Season 2, or whatever timeline works for them.

Same here.

I was looking forward to the Druid and I can’t play it in it’s current shape. Asthetics are a big deal for me and it completely kills the enjoyment.

I agree it’s not an insurmountable task, but it’s a lot larger than many of the posters here seem to believe (literally called ‘zero effort’ at various points). It’s absolutely, unequivocally not going to happen by launch, even if they hired designers specifically to do that job. Blizzard is big corporate behemoth, not some small and agile little shop that can take orders and pump them out. They wouldn’t even have hired a single graphics designer within that time frame, let alone started doing the actual work.

Sorry, hard disagree.

It is commonly called a focus team or a task force. If you need to escalate an issue with your product you pull individuals from other teams on a temporary basis and assign them fo a focused project.

This is absolutely normal in every industry, and is done for exampe in the automobile industry if a vendor reports a systemic flaw with a new model.

I think you misunderstand the nature of this request.

I don’t. This is exactly the scenario you would use it for.

“Flaw” can mean reports coming in that the customers do not like the shape of your automobile seats or something in that vein. If it is deemed detrimental to business you would for example pull people familiar with the supply chain and have them develop you a plan to change the design/material/whatever with your supplier and your production line and give you timeline.

This is no different.

Well, let’s see if the arrow of history considers this to be a flaw that needs immediate redress.

Yes, I agree, that is indeed the main question here

It is a non-issue. Move on.
