925 item power drop from world bosses is too much

You go to a world boss just after you made it to T4 and get a weapon with perfect dmg. I think it shouldn’t be that way

925 item level doesn’t guarantee stats you need on it as well. Unless you’re lucky, you will have to see 100’s at 925 to find a good usable one.

he isnt talking about affixes, and that doesnt matter at all. Put on a itempower 700 weapon with perfect stats. And then a 925 with whatever. If you are playing a weapondmg dependent specc this is an insane upgrade.

And he is absolutely right, the progression to max dmg is cut short with this stupid system.

I do think they should lock it behind the level 100 achievement and then just start dropping 925 everywhere and just affix hunt. However, I enjoy my 925’s. so OP, please be quiet for all the level 60’s out there to find some good weapons.

I’m still running around with a regular legendary crossbow on my rogue right now because an ancestral crossbow with a dexterity stat roll just doesn’t even exist.

But these shiny 925 boots with movement speed and 3 resistances dropped while watching 5 BL sorcs insta delete a world boss so I guess I can’t complain too much

Considering that you spend all of your time from the moment you get into T4 until you finally give up / season over etc doing every world boss and still never get the stat roll you are after - Im fine with it as is.

Also there is the issue that the instant you imprint it, you may find its equip level gets cranked to 80 so as a level 60 or whatever when you get into T4, you may find that even after getting a rare or legendary drop, if you need to imprint it, it may not actually be usable at your level.

925 weapon is a good start, but meaningless, as it will likely take hundreds more to get decent rolls on one.

This is a nothing sandwich issue.

No. Unless they truly fix itemization, if anything, we need more chances at 925 IP cause of how impossible it is to even roll the affixes you’re looking for, let alone good rolls.

Who made it to World T4 with a 700 IP weapon? You can buy a weapon from the vendor in T4 that is 870. Be fair and compare a perfect stat 870 versus a garbage 925. I’d take the 870 and you know you would too.

That doesn’t change the fact that ANY 925 as soon as you enter T4 is a MASSIVE upgrade trivializing the game and obsoleting every other weapon drop until you find slightly better 925 weapons to fine tune to your build.

And no, almost every 925 will be better than the best 870 if your build relies on weapon dps. Suboptimal weapon stats aren’t ‘useless’ as almost every stat increases your damage in some way - they’re just suboptimal to your BIS. Lots of people make it to wt4 with 700 weapons or at least they did until the bloodharvest loot vomit which is a whole different issue in my opinion.

World boss and I’d argue uber boss drops are way too high level gear for how much (little) effort they take to do (talking about rares not uniques). The rest of the game’s drops may as well not exist.

Season 2 was pathetically easy because gear became so easy to come by and monsters weren’t tuned for that.

Deleted tons of 925 gloves and using a 879 glove as the 925 gloves do not have the stats that I was looking for. Same for weapons. Deleted tons due to the same reason.

I would suggest some sort of crafting that will allow us to gradually upgrade the gears as we level up by using mats that we had farmed. For example start off with a white gear (i.e., the base) that the item level can be upgrade as we move up the level (e.g., to 925 when we reached 100). Affixes can be added when we reach a certain stage of leveling (e.g., at level 10, 30, 60 and 80 etc.). Enhancements will only be used to roll the stats (i.e., the only “gamble” part).

This will enable us to really design our own built and play the way we want.

Isn’t the damage on a 925 weapon more important that any stat?

At least for the Rogue, 925 means jack nothing compared to the affixes. The only 925 items I have equipped are uniques.

High tier NMD and AoZ are the end game and you aren’t getting anywhere with a bunch of random level 925 items. You also won’t be nearly as effective elsewhere.

Depending on the build certain weapons are merely stat sticks and that’s all you use them for. Getting perfectly rolled regular and sacred gear happens way more often than getting perfected ancestral gear and that is because the game adds more affix bloat as the quality of the gear improves.

I swap eventually when I get main stat plus one or two other desired affixes on the gear, problem is some time back they ditched priority affixes on gear when enchanting so now the pool of possible affixes includes way too much trash.

The same thing is true of jewely as well. Except the best passive and resource affixes are on ancestral rolls only. You get a slight resistance bump for higher I-level, but if your build is put together properly those extra couple percent won’t make or break you because you will be over cap.

I don’t know anyone who has done that. I certainly haven’t.

I guess you did. You should salvage it. Or maybe that’s the issue, you are crying because you haven’t done it either.

Barb and rogue can carry around ‘stat sticks’, where the weapon isn’t used but all the affixes will continue to buff the character.

Blizzard already addressed this in their final campfire chat for last year. Ilvl 925 items will probably not drop from the get go when you enter T4 with next season.

It’s not a “non-issue” guaranteeing 925’s anywhere makes all other loot drops less significant if not insignificant completely.
This kind of guarantee cannibalizes the search for loot.
Drops should always be done by % chance and then they can tweak to what factors into that %.

I think D4 should move away from weapon dps being tied to item power only.

Make weapons something special, more similar to D2 where you need actual rolls on the weapon to make it have good DPS. Makes it feel much much more exciting to find good dps weapons and harder as well.

If it were up to me i would sever the ties between spell casters and weapon DPS too. Casters dont attack with their weapons so why would weapon DPS matter at all. Make them have some caster stats like spell damage instead.

Preseason: “it is too hard and takes too long to level”
S2: “game is too easy and leveling is too quick”

Preseason: “there arent enough mobs. Please fix mob density”
S2: “there are too many mobs and the drops are garbage ”

Preseason: “820 items are too difficult to get and arent worth much”
S2: “925 items drop too easy, drop all the time, are making other drops meaningless, and are making the game easy because mob level didn’t scale with them.”

This thread is further proof no one will ever be happy no matter what blizzard does or puts forth.
