The reason why loot is being reworked yet again is because it’s trying to cover up for the fact that talent trees don’t do anything interesting.
You have talents that basically do something like “this ability does 30% [ x ] more damage”.
Meanwhile, in order to make an ability actually do something, you have to stack several 200% [ x ] damage multipliers, several uniques, several “cast / hit twice” tempers, 200% bonus attack speed and 80% CDR.
You are basically baking talent trees into gear because the talent trees themselves don’t do anything other than giving you access to a completely watered-down version of an ability that might as well do negative damage.
It’s a design fail when abilities that are supposed to do a lot of damage on a long cooldown have to be spammed like a basic attack in order to actually do something.
Rework the talent trees first and then rework the gear, otherwise you will be stuck doing 4 more gear reworks over the course of VoH.

Maybe if bliz waits for the launch of poe2 and see there some cool ideas that they can implement, otherwise i dont see anything happening to save d4.

Same mistake they did for Diablo3.
Diablo 2 was a smoother experience.

Calling the big elephant in the room for why the house is tipping over. Thank you. Talents are sucky right now and no passives will fix them either. Fix the spells
You hit on something that’s bothered me since I first played this game in the Beta weekends… why are skills basically useless? Their main job seems to be to proc effects on your gear. There’s a reason nearly every build has 1 point spent on 23 different skills and one (or if you’re really lucky two) skills maxed out.
And that’s because all the skills are linear like +1/+2/+3/+4/+5 and not +1/+3/+6/+9/+15 or +1/+4/+9/+16/+25. It would make spending extra points on skills MEAN something and actually encourage people to develop different play styles. Especially while leveling. Imagine Rabid Hurricane druids or Fire Thorns sorcerers running around.
