the crafting costs seam insane.
i have only ever found 1 “hunted” mob that dropped a head ??? then it gave me a quest to go to alch lady who gave me monster hunter energy not a gem ???
40 hours into the season and doesn’t look ill be able to use these gems at all
i guess i am playing with witch powers, but even those are a pain to level, just got my 5th skill to level 10 only to find out it sucks… are these account wide for the season ???
and cant find these blue “aura buffing” ones that come from some totem in NMDs ??? and its random and more rare then mythic drops ???

yes, yes you do…
but the “monster head” is tooooooooooo rare to do so ???
only ever gotten 1 and misused it… are they even tradeable ?
they are rare, but not too rare really. Pop a draught of whisper potion and go to the witch zones. Whenever a cocoon appears, you go there to kill the Husk.
also just checked, not tradeable, they are account bound ^^

Well you can only equip 1 right? You shouldn’t need many heads. I think that the rarity is to impart importance on the choice.

haha yea same ^^ im working on my second right now ^^
I’m less than 40 hours in and have probably found more than a dozen heads. I have 5 witch powers at level 20, and 2 legendary occult gems. Best farm methods for both rot and heads is just keep doing the Witchtide zones, especially on T4, with the elixir active, and make sure you go to the cocoon events every time one pops. In between do the whispers in the zone and the Cleansing Pyres and you should get a good amount of rot each time + heads.
I did notice head droprates didn’t seem good on T1 but on T4 it’s much better. I wonder if the elixir droprate buff only applies to the player that clicks the cocoon and spawns the event, so if people are on T1 and not using the elixir, fugitive head spawns end up much lower.

I did a lot of Headhunt and crafted 10 occult gems including a legendary one so far for seasonal journey. I still have 7 Fugitive Heads in my stash.
I’m p230ish.
how do you cleansing pyres ? they just die all the time within seconds of activating them…
still on T3, paragon 105 only
and i have been doing this, but only 1 head, and only a few witch powers, the season side quest is done already, and its painful to keep doing 1 activity forced over and over and over
I believe the mechanic is the enemies will try to get to the pyre and it will cause the HP bar on the pyre to go down, and killing them adds HP to it. No matter how fast you kill stuff, the bar still depletes a little over time, but if you’re insta-killing stuff, you should be able to keep the pyre going for a good 30s or so, maybe more (haven’t counted the exact time I can keep it going), collecting a few hundred rot in the process.
Since the rot droprate buff, pyres are still useful of course, but without them, you should still be able to get 100’s (maybe even 1000) of rot in a single zone.

talking about the head for crafting the gem, not the witch power rot
Well, you asked about the cleansing pyres, so I answered. But sorry, the heads can’t drop from pyres, I meant overall, doing those activities I mentioned is the best way to get a bunch of everything.
Heads are best farmed on T4, with the elixir active and just doing as many of those cocoon events (orange cocoon symbol on the map), as possible. I’ve found around ~21 heads now. On lower difficulties they just don’t reliably drop and I wonder if it’s because players aren’t using the elixirs.
Elixirs are like Profane Mind Cages were - they can only affect you. Loot isn’t shared anyway so loot drops would be limited to you either way.
I find good luck on headhunting by using the draught and going into the seasonal dungeons - the rootholds.
