2H axe expertise useless for thorns build?

All thorns build guides suggest building up vulnerable damage because it’s affected by thorns. The 2H axe expertise does increase vulnerable damage, but when using any weapon. Meaning when you deal direct damage with a weapon, right? So this wouldn’t benefit thorns at all.

Wouldn’t it be better to take polearm expertise for lucky hit chance, along with pressure point passive?

you’re overthinking it. ignore the “when using any weapon” wording as it doesn’t actually matter. pick the technique you want in your technique slot, and gain the power of it at all times passively. it’s that simple. yes, 2h axe 10% vuln dmg DOES work for Barbarian thorns builds and thorns damage
