2 weeks without a patch?

2 weeks without a patch? They were releasing patches every few days at first. There’s a growing list of bugs and issues. WTH are they waiting for?

QA testing and Certification on a massive 13 page patch.

Everything so far has been pretty minor

3 weeks actually, people have been posting bug reports since june 1st

not counting the 27 kilobyte hotfix for like one or two things we got 2.5 weeks ago

Sounds like there is a big patch coming soon though.

Right? I’m really itching to see the notes. I’m not expecting too much though, that’s healthier ^^ It’s probably taking so long because of the consoles…

Sounds like they are trying to make too large of a patch. Some of the fixes probably are a single character code change. I’ve worked in IT sys admin for over 20 years. I definitively understand the testing and promotion of code. The fortune 50 company I work for would be fast tracking the changes they could fast track, given obvious issues customers are facing.

Edit: I also bet they knew about many of these issues before launch, and should have been working on the patches and testing for longer than we know.

There is a difference between a hotfix and a patch brother. Patches can’t be released without console overlord approvals which take time.

They are limited on what they are allowed to do via hotfix because of the console red tape.

So blame console players for this.

If this was a PC only game we’d have the patch already.

They are in a dilemma now. If this next patch is garbage… then the D4 team lost the last bit of good will from the community and this forum will burn even hotter than hell.

But you don’t have to supply xbox and playstation with your changes. Completely different than your corporate code changes.

Shared play with consoles, and every patch has to go through quality mangement of sony and mircosoft, so we get a patch cycle like a console game.

How many years of game development do you have? How many massive online games have you coded for?

They did have an all staff party the other day.

They admitted that DRUID gear drops were bugged with barbs and were getting tons of barb uniques but said no fix till season 1

Don’t be surprised if they come out and say “Thank you for participating in our beta”… S1 will start soon.

The devs know they got a big problem on their hands and have likely gone into hiding to come up with a plan

S1 is already done bro, they aren’t changing it at this point.

You are just coping right now.

They are working on S2.
