It’s also a game that no one’s playing in comparison to their licenses sold.
Mid season? Game was dead s1 week1. This is s1 week2 numbers. I bet it would die in the middle of the second month, as every other arpg season.
But even that, they can’t achieve. LMAO.
Just because some of you keep repeating it doesn’t make it true.
It’s really far from “mid season”, champ.

As I said before it’s not the start or the end, play semantics and call it whatever you like it matters little. It’s the same viewership flux for every game on Twitch since the Justin.tv days (outside of MOBA and some FPS). It’s not a new thing and viewership hasn’t ever equated to player count be it good or bad but that doesn’t make for good forum banter I get it.
I personally think it take a special kind of person to grind the **** out of this game. Nothing wrong with those who like to do it but its not for everyone. I finished the main campaign, collect a pile of statues did a bunch of the dungeons and I’m bored. I’m supposed to be hooking up with my brother tonight for our weekly session and I’m finding it hard to want to play the game. It is what it is. More of the same over and over. Yawn. This isn’t to say I don’t think it’s a good game, but it doesn’t have staying power for a lot of people the way it is.
To be fair Diablo only doing x10 better than PoE on a given metric is pretty awful considering that 15 million people bought Diablo but only 20,000 people play PoE.
But again, PoE is a streamer game, I think literally more people watch PoE content than play, whereas obviously that’s not true for Diablo (Diablo 4 has millions of players still).
Not to mention the fact that it’s ten years old.
Ten years old…
what does this say about season 1 performance? currently #38 when sorted by viewers
Absolutely nothing, when there is no major release or ESPORT stuff, Chatting is top on twitch, it does not prove that chatting is better than gaming ![]()
I’m not defending the game here as it has major flaws that will take time to fix but this argument is just silly and not how Twitch works for the average viewer. Twitch has a limited number of viewers, and the majority of viewers that are not watching competitive games are going to be watching a streamer they like and watch regularly, they don’t watch for a single game. There are people that watch for games over streamers themselves but that tends to be more so for competitive games.
D4 was a new release so that brought in new viewers and streamers. Even if the game was perfect that viewership would drop over time, most games are not fun to watch and games like this are not great for carrying a stream. Numbers were also inflated because of the Twitch drops, It’s pretty rare that I bother watching a stream and the only reason I bothered was for the drops. For the most part, the games that bring in Viewers for the game itself are all competitive unlike D4, while Twitch numbers can indicate how popular a game is that’s not the best way to look at it outside of PvP games as most games without PvP are no fun to watch over playing yourself.
It’s also wrong with looking at the numbers randomly like that. Sure when you looked it was 11k viewers. Currently, it’s over 15k. when I checked Twitch last night a single person streaming the game had that much on D4 and that was at like 3 AM. Again, that’s because people are watching for the steamer more so than just the game with something like D4. Currently, the new hyped game is BG3 and that’s what all the streamers will be playing for a bit, after a few days or a week those viewers will likely drop too as people quit or finish the game. That does not make BG 3 bad but it’s just how things work.
D4 had 56k
20/characters
Sorry mate, it is 8.4k viewers. That is a remarkable number considering the playerbase is 50% of that.
Why care about twitch viewership of a game thats about leveling and running dungeons for drops? The game isn’t made for streaming.
No, it didn’t. Sorry delusional guy, D4 has been circling the drain for a while.
Hmm let’s see where it’s at right now, oh 4.9k. losing to Super Mario 64, Albion Online, OSRS, LA, and a bunch of other old games lmao. Pretty impressive for a fresh AAA release from one of their flagship IPs. Oh wait it’s terrible.
This game is falling off faster than D3. Because its somehow even worse than D3.
Hmm let’s see where it’s at right now, oh 4.9k

You understand that Europe and Asia exist right? And have as many if not more gamers than the US? There’s a world outside of America…
Dude you are trying waay to hard here
No you just look like an idiot who thinks the only time zones are US time zones lmao.
Ok
Twitch is not a metric for whether a game is dead or not. It’s a metric of how new the game is.
People have just moved on to the next new game.
When games are new, of course there’s tons of views.
It’s a metric of how new the game is.
or if there is something new. If you look at D3 years after release, twitch viewers oscillate associated with new seasons/PTRs.
