1.1.1 Patch Notes up - ZERO MENTION OF XP BUFFS?

So just read through the 1.1.1 Patch notes and was astonished to see zero mention of any XP buffs. I know they mentioned buffing mob density but I see nothing about increasing XP gained after level 50? IMHO increasing mob density doesn’t really make leveling from 50-100 any easier/faster, it just equates to getting to the same result with less dungeons having to be run.

This was their statement, “Blizzard confirmed that XP will be much easier to earn after level 50 once the update is live. The number of enemies in Nightmare Dungeons is also set to be increased, making it much easier to farm and speeding up progress”.

Can anyone explain to me how this is “easier” outside of having to run less dungeons since there’s more mob density per dungeon? We’re not getting any higher XP amounts perse, therefore the grind from 50-100 XP amount wise is the same from what I understand. I was under the impression that they were buffing the amount of XP as well from killing mobs from 50-100. If it’s only mob density that is increasing and not the amount of XP gained from 50-100, that’s extremely disappointing. Did I miss something here?

double the monster density = double xp. I think this is pretty easy to understand.

Double the monster density does not equal double the XP. It just equates to gaining more XP per dungeon in total. If I kill 200 monsters in one dungeon and that equals 2 million XP, killing 200 monsters between 2 dungeons equals 2 million XP as well. How is that double the XP?

To me it just equates to getting the same XP amount that we’ve been getting but having to run fewer dungeons.

You need to go back to school bud

If you kill 200 monsters in 1 dungeon and it takes you 10 mins it is more EXP than clearing the same dungeon in 10 mins but killing 100 monsters

Big issue is overworld do now that monsters trail 5 levels behind. The only way to get do is nmd, helltides, legion, and turning in whispers. Even normal dungeons trail 5 Lvov’s behind so they are useless expect fit whisper xp

Before there were 200 monsters in the dungeon. Now there are 400 monsters. If you kill all the monsters, you get double exp.

If you skip all the monsters, you don’t deserve double exp.

Problem is, For some classes it could take almost twice as long. So if it takes longer is that really a gain? I can just go skipping through the world and achieve the same thing.

If anyone needs to go to school it’s you. How you equate that killing twice the number of monsters will take the exact same amount of time as killing 100 blows me away. It’s safe to say that if you’re encountering 2x the amount of monsters, it’s going to take you some small amount of time greater than 1x the amount of monsters

The game is mostly played by blowing up big packs at once, I doubt the increased density would significantly increase clear times unless you’re taking on content too difficult for your character

You will complete the dungeon in almost the same time. Extra minions won’t add much time to the dungeon. Most skills use aoe and every mob packs will die at a similar rate whether its 3 minions or 15 minions.

Ok so if you take 10% longer to clear the 200 monsters (11 minutes) compared to 100 monsters (10 minutes) do you still not understand that it’s a huge net exp gain?

I was thinking of all the trash mobs that have increased health.

You have to apply radius layering effects and Average of units per area swing.

In other words. You swing and hit avg 3 enemies before. now it’s 5 enemies. Thus each swing is multiplicative in it’s power output including all layers triggered by that hit. This is the danger of Enemy Density.

It not only works this way on exp but also CC, damage intake, impact to recovery and others.

Idk why people in this thread are so dense. Reread the Blizzard statement, they said XP after 50 will be improved AND ALSO monster density is going up.

Increasing monster density is delivering on only half of what they promised.

They say that they improve monster density. There’s no place where they say they’re doubling it.

The example blizzard demonstrated was a 50% increase, so ok fine not “double” but substantial

Only the bosses will have increased health

How about we wait to see what the density changes bring for XP gains before adjusting the XP format. We don’t need everyone to hit 100 quickly and the lack of endgame to become more apparent.

If you are hitting on average 50% more enemies per AoE then it’s equivalent to 50% more exp.

I’m being cynical here, But i hope it’s not just the trash mobs that have the increased health affix. they increase by 50%
