10 Things Diablo 4 Devs should add to Diablo 4 to improve quality of life

Since Diablo is doing a fireside chat tomorrow, I thought what better time than now to release a list of 10 things Diablo 4 devs should add to Diablo 4 to improve quality of life. We all know that over the years the creative minds at Blizzard have WOWed us time and time again with the new games and feature that they have put out. Not many companies can say that they have as many successful titles that have become franchises played for years. With that said let’s jump into the list of things that Diablo 4 devs can do.

1) Have an in-game group finder option for dungeons and events.

Instead of dealing with people spamming or trolling people in game chat because they are looking for others to run dungeons and events with, why not add an option in game to find people who are looking to defeat world bosses, run hell tide, do nightmare dungeons or other things. Many games already have this feature. I’m sure Diablo devs can do this.

2) Have an in game market place like diablo.trade.

Other Diablo games have had this feature, why not the newest game in the franchise?

3) Elaborate on the clan functions available and add features.

Games like Diablo and World of Warcraft thrive off relationships built in game. Shoot some of us have friends who are considered family that we met years ago in game and became clanmates or guild buddies. At minimum Diablo should add some sort of bonus or benefit for being in a clan to encourage gaming in groups and help further grow the connection of players to the game. They could start by adding clan achievements, clan storage bank, clan buffs just to name a few.

4) Gold automatically being picked up.

Maybe start by expanding the pickup radius based on character level. The higher the level, the higher the radius. Diablo has done this before.

5) Being able to click on boss dungeons and go directly into them.

No need to say more.

6) Add a special icon to Sigils when the Sigils are for nightmare dungeons that have whisper events going on.

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for ways to maximize my time in game to get my character leveled up, get my glyphs leveled up, and get materials. One way I do that is by trying to do nightmare dungeons that have whisper events going on.

7) Add a teleport to party member feature to character in social menu.

I know you can teleport to a major town and then teleport to a party member, but why not cut out the middle step like other games?

8) Once anyone in the party opens a part of a map in a dungeon, make it visible for the whole party.

One of my pet peeves in jumping into a dungeon to help a friend and you are both looking for that last enemy to kill and since you both didn’t go into the same areas you can’t see the whole map so you spend more time second guessing and looking around the dungeon.

9) Allow players to access Unique Items from the eternal realm once your seasonal character is leveled up to 100.

In a game where you could play months or years just to get that one special/uber unique item how awesome would it be to finally be able to use it with characters from any realm. Imagine you are that person who happens to finally get the item you have been waiting for all season long and you get it on the last day. Well at least you got it right? Yes, but now you are onto the new season and hoping that you can get it again. Many players have been playing since the game came out and have yet to see or know anyone who has had an uber unique item. (Unless you watch videos of your favorite content creators, who in some cases have multiple items) This would be another way to encourage people to play the new content knowing that once they hit 100 they could access certain gear in the seasonal realm. This could be done by adding another slot to your stash that holds these items.

10) Increase party sizes from 4 to 6.

We all have those 1 or 2 friends or clan mates that get left out of groups because they logged on a little later then the original 4 party members. Why not increase the party size to 6? Its not like the level of boss difficulty can’t be scaled based on party size. Not to mention Diablo 2 has party sizes of 8.

To close things out I want to say that the talented staff at Blizzard is more than capable of adding these features and more to make this game a blast for years/decades to come. If the people currently on the Diablo dev team need some help maybe they could phone a friend or two on the Warcraft team. Maybe a dev and donuts session are needed? Let’s get those creative juices flowing and get those Blizzard all-stars together in a room and get these things added.

Honorable mentions that will take more development time but still definitely worth mentioning.

Player housing

The options here are limitless. Diablo could create mission or events that drop pieces to build bigger player housing areas. They could also have decorative items that drop (like mount armor) that you could use to decorate your space. These could be places where friends or clan members get together. (Maybe this becomes a clan thing instead of an individual player thing see item #3 on the list)

Raids

Can we get some world bosses that are in dungeons? Who wouldn’t love to go into dungeons or special areas of the map with 2–4 full parties to take on a gauntlet of enemies on the way to a massive world boss?

Been there, done that, but thanks for the comment and for deciding to pay attention to half of the post and then deciding to troll. I’m all for posts to get more eyes on this.

DON’T WORRY YOU CAN BUY IT SOON

#9 would defeat the purpose of seasons entirely, and it really isn’t that hard to get to 100.

and no raids, not at all, this isn’t a MMO, everything should be doable solo

i agree that for an ARPG with a shared world, the social features are barely there, and requires more work in that departement, but don’t turn it into a real MMO with raids and trash.

I have to disagree on #9 it would make things a lot more boring…
If they were an issue to get like they were before ubber bosses, then I would agree.
But now you can just target farm them so… I don’t see the point

I like the idea of raids as part of more endgame content but I see your point.

  1. Have an in-game group finder option for dungeons and events.
I’d never use it. Do I want to team up with strangers for anything? No.

  2. Have an in game market place like diablo.trade.
    I’d never use it.

  3. Elaborate on the clan functions available and add features.
    Nothing worth bothering to add.

  4. Gold automatically being picked up.
Yes. Increase the radius of the auto-pick up for everything that has it.

  5. Being able to click on boss dungeons and go directly into them.
Make all the dungeon chores optional, and have them give a bonus to completion at the end.

  6. Add a special icon to Sigils when the Sigils are for nightmare dungeons that have whisper events going on.
    I like this one.

  7. Increase party sizes from 4 to 6.
No thanks. There’s enough going on on the screen with four. I don’t want more chaos than that.

Player housing
No! This absolutely does not fit the theme of the game.

Raids
HELL NO!

The survey is mostly not in line with what the developers have been communicating so far, so I hope this isn’t originated from the Diablo IV team.

No it’s not. He wants something more grand, but with classic diablo-style high-speed hack-n-slash / looting. I agree with him.
