This is the single dumbest thing you’ve done yet.

If you want it to be aspirational, make it PURELY aspirational and strip every single other reason for playing T4 out.

I’m not running 2x as many bosses to get the same chance at a mythic as someone in T4 because you think too many people ONLY HALF THE PLAYER BASE is making it to T4.

What happens when more casual players bail because of garbage like this, and the majority of players aspire to T4? Make it harder so only 10% are playing T4 again?!

This isn’t even touching on making legendries rarer when it was already difficult enough to find a good roll… or making bosses even more mat intensive. Mats should have been dropped from the game over a year ago when it became clear you couldn’t stop the duping that has happened at the start of every season so far.

I’m not even going to waste my time offering ideas for a different approaches… you haven’t listened yet, why bother.

The leadership of this game is atrocious, and I hope those that could have left the team by now. To the rest of the team… I am sorry, but the leadership did this to us both.

I’m not coming back to this game any time soon… and I guess my accelerated battlepass token gets converted to platinum? IDGAF really… I doubt you do either, since you already have the money… but this game is not getting any more money from me.

I hope it was worth it… actually that’s a lie. I hope this leadership and the company suffer for what they did to this game.

So much potential and goodwill, squandered by ego and arrogance…

You have the right to demand that the Battle Pass not be converted. Let me remind you that you did not buy platinum, and they have no right to compensate this product for you with platinum without your consent.
When selling the game, they shoved into the kit skins from other games that you did not need so as not to return the product. Now you have the right to do the same.
I refuse to exchange my Battle Pass for anything else. I use it only to get the pass rewards that I like.
You can always create a stalemate.

Oh nice, I can say I did you one better: I’ve never redeemed my initial premium battle pass from preorder. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: The button telling me I can redeem it has stared me down since June 2023, and I win every time. Going for total victory.

All righty, I’ll see you season 8, Maybe season 9! Bye bye now. (( ))

I wrote a little unclearly. I haven’t used it either. And in principle I won’t until something appears that I like. I’m also against exchanging it for something, in any case they won’t offer anything adequate.
In principle, I initially made a mistake by buying this trash game (yes, this is the definition of a game with many bugs that they don’t try to fix, a clear and unfixable meta and imbalance, as well as mediocre content. D4 justifies this definition) because I knew that Blizzard has nothing to offer in terms of interesting gameplay.

The OP isn’t wrong.

This game has ZERO direction. They need to get a direction and stick with it or people will bail and this game will die.

I’m tired of the same crap each season, but I tolerate it because I can pump out all the rewards and finish inside 2 weeks. If they want to extend that because people think it was “too easy” then, yeah I’ll stop logging in and I’m sure others will too and their metrics are going to sink worse than TESLA stock.

What a sad person. Why would you wish suffering on someone just because you dont like a video game? Its a silly little game, it might be time to grow up a bit.

you gotta love the raging kids whenever something gets a little nerfed.

i only hope blizzard sticks to it for once and doesnt dial back to comfort people that throw a tantrum about everything anyway.

The game has never had direction to begin with. Its just literally following in the footsteps of Diablo 3. D3 was a challenging game when it first came out, but then slowly became the Arcade demon slayer simulator 9000 because of all the changes. Where I see D4 heading down that same path. Give it a few more seasons and soon we’ll have Torment X.

Its just the endless carrot on the stick for the players. Farm till you are powerful, then go to the forums to complain the game is too easy, and bam we’ll get another torment level… Lather Rinse Repeat

Since people noticed that, they have decided to release a road map after 7 seasons.
I agree that they don’t seem to know where they are going.

Let’s hope the map includes a stop for smoothies or the kids in the back seat are going to throw tantrums all the way.

I wanna throw a tantrum too. Not sure what about tho.

just after the loot drought of season 6 and into the first week of season 7, the forum was flooded with ego and arrogance jokers, complaining about legendaries raining from the skies. so, the devs listened and eased their suffering in season 8 by once again nerf legendaries drop.

sorry for the collateral damage.

Then in S8 they will RMT to buy BIS gear like they always do and complain the game is too easy and fast some more.

it sure has, and by copying meta builds from asians with 4GA RMT gears, a 4-player team sweeps every seasonal content the next day, then makes a video blaming the season for being too short.

make the game hard = win

the GRINDERs and the TRY HARDS are the ones logging in every day

dont cater to the casual player… focus on your TRUE CORE DIE HARD FANS… thats how POE did it… and it was successful

And there we have it.

Let people’s actions speak , and let the developers change their direction then.

I didn’t. Kek. Otherwise I wouldn’t have thrown $200 at them for double helpings. But in my defense, I was fooled by 2 things (besides copium for old Diablo philosophy I was hoping was being carried by 1 or more visionaries in the studio):

Their notorious emphasis on PR language that can mask a ton of flaws, including lack of a strong vision, nefarious management approach (to be revealed by Rod himself in an interview a year later, like a tick), and practically no real testing of new ideas before they’re released (see ‘management’)…

And a pretty solid-looking early demo. It had the right sounds, it had what looked like gritty, grim settings, and it had tactile combat. It even had funny mainstream surrogates who seemed to be genuinely enjoying the feel of it.

How could they fudge it up?

Also, a bit ironic that I used to imagine NetEase’s steering of D:Immortal meant there’d be a total separation & that product’s inferior mobile garbage wouldn’t affect D4’s trajectory… whereas it’s clear now that D:I is brimming with innovation, is adequately tested (with much more ambitious content releases), and has a pretty strong vision - meaning it’s objectively a superior product somehow? How the heck D4 was allowed to be owned & operated by a committee of less innovative & less competent bean counters than the mobile game is so interesting you can’t even be mad at it… you gotta just put your chin in your hand & have a little think on it.

A strange answer to the phrase “because I knew”…
Oh well.
I basically knew that there would be a mediocre performance back in D3. I left after the release of RoS, because they made the base game unplayable. After that I went in once, when one of my colleagues was convincing me that seasons are interesting and when I encountered the content locked behind the add-on I realized that this company doesn’t know how to work.
So basically I knew back when the beta launched that there would be classic trash play and tried to talk the person out of throwing money in the trash. In the end, I couldn’t refuse that person, and even upgraded the edition to the Ultimate. In the end, that person quit the game in the first season and never came back.
So it’s not that I regret it. I just don’t like it when people treat me like pigs, because then I’ll do even worse.

Because terrible leadership deserves to be punished, not rewarded. The only way that happens is if the company’s bottom line suffers.

During the first two seasons (when they still sent season recap emails) I had over 600 hours into each season. I’m not a casual but I will not tolerate them trying to increase the time I put into this game just by making it more difficult.

I am sad… sad they let Rod do this. sad that my favorite franchise of all time is in such a pathetic state.

A little nerfed? excluding 90% of the playerbase from the most rewarding difficulty?! and this is on top of ALL the nerfs we’d seen previously… and the other nerfs of s8.

Rifts… excuse me… Pits were supposed to be the aspirational content, and that was fine… anything over 100 only got you slightly better XP… and paragon 300 was also aspirational.

This aspirational garbage is a smoke screen, intended to hide that they suck at making a game fun and engaging for the majority, and still have something for tryhards and nolifers.

I hesitated to say ever because there’s still a small portion of me that hopes they fire Rod and get someone with vision to lead this game.

I played maybe 40hrs this season and just can’t find the want to come back so I can hopelessly grind for the right gear for my build. I’m not even playing the PTR which I typically do.

I feel sorry for all the bootlickers… all your defense of this garbage just robs you of a better game.

I have been saying this for many seasons. Leadership is the problem. No willingness to take a big risk. Minimal effort to sell battlepasses and cosmetics. No interest in being on the leading edge just a quick money grab. It is an insult to the Diablo series.
