I can play a game for a few minutes or a full month. The question is how far they leveled and etc before the boredom kicked in and they quit.
They can’t fudge the meanings here… played means actually interacted with the game world, not just logged in… you can ignore whatever you like to fit your narrative, but the game, while flawed, isn’t doing as badly as you hope it is doing.
Its such a good bait lol.
Got everyone all riled up.
These dated cherry-picked numbers are for shareholders.
People who play the game, know how poor the state of the game is.
No, because with 10 million people paying 70 to 100 bucks a piece, Blizzard is laughing all the way to the bank.
10 Million is the population around the Kyovashad Waypoint at the moment. Maybe more.
99% of Blizzard staff aren’t seeing any of that money.
Could that be part of the reason they do their jobs so poorly?
Considering that most of the saltiest folks in the forum all claim to have stopped playing after the first week or so (or first week of the season), they couldn’t know the state of the game since they aren’t currently playing it… they have zero to contribute if they haven’t played the game after the patches and updates.
back in june, people didn’t know they wouldn’t like the game because they hadn’t played it yet. sounds logical right
Modern AAA games cost anywhere from $500M to over $1B to produce and market, and this game had a long development hell with lots of rewrites and ataff changes, its probably on the expensive end. Their profits aren’t that large.
Blizzard as a whole is only ~15% of the revenue of Activision. Most of their money comes from Activision itself (e.g. CoD) and candy crush, not Blizzard.
They made 1 billion dollars in that quarter from D4. It’s in the earnings report.
Source? Surely you have a source to make that claim, right? There are rules they must follow for these quarterly reports, but as long as the rules are followed then they have full authority to make it look better than it really is as much as they can.
Making up numbers is illegal in these reports, but at the same time they’re not showing all numbers either. Summarizing the numbers is their thing and has been for a long time, focusing on the peaks instead of the averages or the lows.
Financial reports from the company that released the game mean nothing.
I get my information from the bots and alt accounts on Metacritic.
They are literally legal documents that are ILLEGAL to lie in.
They do mean a lot.
June being the KEYWORD
lol sarcasm, read the second sentence.
Post the report…if you can’t you made it up.
Do you have sources to confirm what you envision that statement means (specifically that played means logged in once)… i’ll wait.
So if player retention is good… why are you white knighting so hard on the forum with this post to try to convince people that player retention is good…?
I’m the one who asked you for your source, I never made the claim played means anything.
Nice use of the “I’m rubber and you’re glue”-approach though, truly shows you know what you’re talking about.
Here you go. Google is hard I guess. It’s an easily accessible public document.
