All these topics have been closed for me, but out there I only see topics like “is diablo 3 better than diablo 4?” Well I don’t know because I’ve never played it, but I assure you that diablo 2 after 24 years and with worse graphics and without being a live game is much better than diablo 4. They said that diablo 4 would be somewhat similar to diablo 2, but it looks more like poe2 than d4, lamentable. Learn from the master and renew the team you have. It’s clear that you have no idea how to balance the game or any kind of end game that hooks the player, reformulate the runes and make runic words, bring back crafting and give an that to the white, blue, and yellow items.

It’s funny how D2 is soooooo much greater than d4…… but people like you still have d4 living rent free in their head and can’t seem to leave a game and message boards that’s inferior to their beloved product.
Guess since you’re here d2 isn’t fulfilling you.

Not at all, I play Diablo 2 every day, I regret having stopped playing it for a year to play D43, luckily I didn’t play the last season of D4 and I went back to D2, now I’m very happy with D2, but it saddens me how the D4 developers drag the name of Diablo.

I think that if Blizzard had taken D2 as a base instead of D3, D4 would have been way more successful.

D4 beta was the real successor of D2, but since they wanted to please the whinners & crybabies, they shifted to make D4 equal to D3…
And we end up with D3.5…

All was said, and people want Pit, DC and Helltides to go to oblivion.
That’s why hypocritical people are absolute stupid piece of cancer.
And wonder why they want loot filter and all the “easy” qol stuff?
Just to make a point → click → kill, repeat to exaustion type of game.
For that, better make the full game fully automatic, and a player would only need to login & leave it playing alone…

Current player gen are the worst nightmare to game dev’s, and if game dev’s go after current gen players whinning & crying, it’s al hell broke loose…
All games should have MINORS updates, not massive changes.
After all a game is made and created by dev’s, not by players…

Yep, definetly, they want everything right now and not tryhard to have something and had the satisfaction to have it.
That’s why D2 is beloved for some reason.
Yesterday i got my Kessime’s 4 GA perfect on Zir, i was happy.
When some other just buy it because “lazy” to farm on a farming game.

As people say here, Diablo 4 beta was a successor to Diablo 2, but I don’t know what they did, but the seasons came and unfortunately it no longer looked like Diablo.
What exactly does Diablo look like to you?
Simple, Diablo for me is a dark game without pets with some real mercenaries, a runic word system, a free market where you don’t modify an object and you can’t trade it anymore, a crafting system to give life to those white, blue and yellow items where if one day I don’t want to farm I can craft and spend hours looking for those precious pieces, and of course a decent PVP where the most coveted items are pursued with a balanced economy to keep the game alive, removing lucky hits and damage to wounded enemies, it doesn’t make any sense, some leaderboards at the start of the season, at least what I’m doing that is useful for something, and the drop of the characters that is varied, that I can drop things from any character.
Correction d4 beta was closer to d2 than d3 progression wise.
The game most important aspect itemization was always d3 and not close to d2.
Still was able to play seasons 0 till 2 this mess. But right now with itemization and progression being this bad l have no desire to play this game.

Pets as in the dog or other things are a non issue. Cry a river here. If it wasn’t one thing it would be another.
Mercenaries have never been strong. They are equivalent here as in any version. They are handled differently (managed) but basically they are the same function.
Dark game without pets……it’s still a dark game with pets. Personally I think how they did horses looks crappy. A dark war horse shouldn’t look like a carnival ride horse. It should be stronger, meaner looking, with aggression. To each their own as neither changes game play dramatically. The only place they are really visible in the load screens…. So again seems a useless comparison.
Rune system - check got it
Free market - check got it too.
Both are included and different. No better no worse. So you can’t trade certain things, okay really a non issue, there’s still plenty of trade.
There is a crafting system. To me it’s not stellar but it is a system. Whites, blues and yellows being useful is not something I care about, because they shouldn’t be in the game really at torment levels., but they are materials. Crafting on them to make anything comparable to mythical, uniques is just a waste of time.
You have PVP here. It’s limited but it exists and you do have an item search…base, 1, 2, 3, and 4 GA items. It’s all a hunt all a lottery to enchant/temper. I doubt the majority of prayers give two rips about pvp.
If one day I don’t want to farm I can spend hours looking for those precious pieces…… farming in just another aspect? Seems Diablo isn’t Diablo…. Might as well call what you suggest Crafting with Diablo, or Diablo trade simulator….you could have an expansion called advance dupes and RMT tears….
Removing lucky hits and damage to wounded enemies… seems a petty gripe if I knew wtf the issue was…
Leaderboards… okay I like the idea of this one. We’d see the same names we know are at the top with very little variation…. But then we’d have message boards filled with we need a reset and so and so cheated… oh and my crafted gear is crap I can’t compete…their using a meta build we should have 65,314 categories so I can be in the top 1000 of at least one.
I don’t understand the drop of characters. Can’t criticize what’s unintelligible.

What a way to cry bro, basically you’re saying that you want everything on the first day, that the pvp is there but it doesn’t exist, that the 1st 2nd ga items etc are the most sought after, it’s clear that you don’t want any kind of effort, so just stay in d4, let’s see how long you last playing the seasons, I’m sure you didn’t last even a week, I’ve eaten them all until the end and that’s why I give my opinion.
Uh… D2 just got overhauled. What else do you want? If there was a D3R no one would care about D4 that wanted to keep blasting D3

Don’t care about PVP. They have their area. I can easily avoid it.
There is a difference in effort in finding gear, verses buying gear, verses the Diablo team creating gear.
The reality is there is a loot hunt, there is a lottery hunt (crafting).
And I been playing Diablo since the first version. Don’t see it changing anytime soon.

I hope it doesnt. At some point D2 fanatics just need to realize that this game isnt for them and move on. There is enough options for people that want D2 with modern graphics or a “spiritual successor” to D2. D4 isnt that game and never will be.
The only question left is how long it will take for them to figure out that this will never be D2? I realize some people are a bit on the slow side, but we are coming up on two years since launch. Will it take a third year for them to get a clue? Will it take until next year after launch of the second expansion(which no diablo game has ever had)? Or is it still going to be " durr hurr, I wish this was D2?"

They did but you need to forget this. Because Rod later said, the D2 approach does not sell with gamers today. Not saying the statement is true…but just that he said it and blamed the customers for their failure to make the game on launch enjoyable.
So basically all the D2 stuff was more like “We just lied to get that playerbase to purchase this game. K? Thx. Make sure you get the expansion”
