Zmonk does 150 and is ranking 1

looking at rankings and seen a zmonk ranked 1 solo…how is this possible?

If you are talking in seasons, it’s taking advantage of the seasonal theme to do all the damage.

Yeah… I’ve slipped down the WD leaderboard as well thanks to 2 Zwitch docs clearing a 150.
Clearly that’s ok.
Kinda like Indiana Jones bringing a gun to a swordfight…

So where is the news? On Eu Server a zBarb did 150 solo months ago. But seasonal buff is “working as intended” as blizz posted somewhere around.

They did an exploit in groups ofc, not solo. #1 Solo crusader on America is a support, 150 rift low paragon. Does blizzard look into these things? What do they do about it?

Nothing because it is according to them “working as intended”.

no group exploit here. just playing solo and using snowballs to start the chain.

Please move on or actually go play a ztoon.

Oh, would you be so kind to explain it a bit?
I am aware it was PTR exploit (famous zbarb 150 video) where Season Theme was killing anything regardless on your killings (zbarb killed 0 by himself in mentioned video).
But after that it was “fixed” so you need a lot of kills for Theme to be any viable, i.e. to kill something.
How can a Snowball start chain if you didn’t kill anything? It is strong enough to kill something on 150 even if starts with your 0 kills?
Thank you in advance.

In the midnight hour, zdps cried MORE, MORE, MORE!!!

Thank you, so Ball can make some initial kills even if you don’t kill anything, lol!
However, I completely forgot Conduit pylon. If you get one early, you have even faster and super strong start. Of course, great map with big density and preferably Missile Dampening elite affix needed.
All in all, this is quite sad, although I guess one needs lots of trials to “catch” such a map.

After some research into the issue. This account (I will not state the name here) has completed GR150 with all 7 classes. With their wizard, they even trolled so hard as to remove a skill from their skill bar, use low level random gems in their armor and pants, and even use a yellow rare helm called “Prime Exploit”!

Since they are also only paragon 2500 or so, with under 5 hours played on some of the classes this season, they couldn’t have fished significantly (not to mention they don’t have that many rifts completed to have an enormous stash of rift keys).

Thus I deduce there could be some foul play involved.

I conjecture such an exploit probably uses one or more of the following:

  1. Keeping stacks or swapping stacks into the GR from outside.
  2. Manipulating which seasonal effect spawns (e.g. only snowballs).
  3. Requiring a specific monster type to activate said exploit with some additional actions (perhaps perfectly timed within a frame).

All these ideas are pure speculation based on viewing the account in question’s seasonal progress and clear character builds. It is probabilistically unlikely that the clears were done legitimately as no one else has been able to reproduce these results in such a short time (let alone for all classes).

I will report this to Blizzard via their email hacks@blizzard.com (in case no one already has). If the account in question has done things legitimately, then Blizzard will take no action and I suppose that this was all a very very crazy fluke. If you know the exploit, do so report how it works to Blizzard (not here) and do not use the exploit yourself!

Yeah I responded earlier in the thread. A 0 stack snowball still does enough damage to kill low HP targets. Finding floor 1 or 2 with spiderlings, shadow vermin, maggots, etc is all thats needed to get it started.
Either that or a 0% conduit. In my zdps pushing I got 6 conduits at 0%, a few of those became actual clears.

And yes the zwiz was the most fun, so i went back and cleared it again and used an ultra troll item haha.

The real takeaway from this should be to never have a mechanic in the game which scales with GR level (other than execute, frailty - those are fine).

Especially broken with this season is that this damage is triggered automatically.

And finally the most broken thing is that even after changing it so that a 0 stack season proc should do no damage, it still can kill a small monster at 150.

Grouping together 20 or 30 shadow vermin for example they are all guaranteed to die with snowball because they will follow you and are not blocked by other monsters. easy!

Also whenever I talk about 0% conduits people say they are too uncommon to use as a strategy. I don’t agree. These are the ones (at least the ones I remember screenshotting) I got pushing zdps this season, in total about 1100 keys?

I am aware I got extremely lucky haha.
