I’m actually ocasionly grinding my mind on this ring. It realy needs work, and WDs could benefit from it. And since this is as good as any other thread on this forum, i’ll share my thoughts.
Band of Hollow Whispers. This ring realy does what it’s description says. Ocasionly Haunts enemies. Ok that’s all good, but why is it a universal it and not WD only? If would, they could enable those Haunts to actually proc effects, interact with other items and set bonuses.
In theory that should cast Haunt, making use of damage bonuses and proc’s etc… similarly the belt that casts haunt when opening a chest should benefit from all of that too.
they do patches tuesdays or thursdays. and they said the week of the 25th. not the 25th itself. i want the patch up just as much as everyone else, but we gotta realize how they operate.
I wasn’t clear enough, my bad. I actually expected the changes to be up on the blog, not live on the ptr server.
And they usually do post those on mondays.
all good. i know alot of people just think “ptr new patch now? no? boo!” and it kinda irks me. and half the time i forget they even do the blog earlier than the actual patch.
I dont expect these last two points to happen, but i wouldn’t say them or any of this list is unrealistic.
It functions as a corpse battery, in particular good for corpse explosion/lance. Where we used to try to get insanely low cooldowns on LOTD for corpse speed builds we can now use this sanctified power.
The power has a few issues, but the biggest drawback is the lack of golem survivability.
It’s unrealistic to think that those changes will be in the next PTR patch, but yeah they’re not unrealistic requests. I doubt they’d make it to live either.
Tal Rasha needs a serious buff on two key issues: 1. Mobility 2. Damage
Smoldering Core sucks. We need a 1H Meteor wand/mace/sword… whatever.
Storm Armor exploit needs a fix and then the cooldown must be shortened
Mirrorball needs a serious do-over (at least damage and runes)
Arcane Orb runes need rebalancing
Crown of the Primus MUST be able to trigger DMO. Otherwise the item remains trash.
But I expect to see nothing major, besides the obvious Storm Armor fix.

I don’t mean to argue, but I really don’t think so. The number one thing you’ll see in these adjustments isn’t what’s the best way to fix problems, it’s what’s the easiest and you have some pretty good solutions.
The top one, making the golem immortal. Does that solve all of the issues with that power, no, but it’s easy to implement and it takes care of the number one issue.
The second suggestion, completely changing powers, that’s probably going to happen, too. These aren’t all hits, it’s just the first draft. If we go by the Ethereals season as an example, we saw several Ethereals that had added and removed affixes in the mid PTR patch.
The third suggestion, adding more powers, that probably won’t happen in that form as it is just a lot more work. But, I can see them staying at 3 powers per class but changing them so they’re a little more universal, essentially doing what you’re suggesting.
The fourth suggestion is the one I see happening the least, solely because some of these powers really impact leveling and I don’t get the feeling that’s what they want.
The fifth one is just me being stubborn. I’m tired of them gatekeeping this stuff behind low drop rates. Somewhat understandable with shards and ethereals due to the power they granted. These, imo, don’t grant raw enough power to justify a low drop rate.
They very intentionally moved the end date back and only claimed ‘week of July 25th’ to leave open the possibility the patch doesn’t come out until the end of the week, making next week the final testing window like normal. Given Blizzard’s normal bureaucracy we’re not likely to get patch notes until the patch is ready, anyhow, even if they may be released slightly before the patch.
