This showed that this minor character has enough brain cells to do what a major character/antagonist should have done long ago.
Well said.
Also, not every character needs a Hollywood-ish epic death, especially when Cain is not a fighter. His fate is pretty much limited to either getting killed or dying on his bed due to his age. Pick one.
Tbf, Cainâs current death sounds similar to that though. After all, he resisted Maghdaâs torture and with the last of his strength repaired Tyraelâs sword, which was instrumental in restoring Tyraelâs life and thus setting the heroes on their task to Caldeum.
Anyway, my preference of Cain dying in act 3 instead of act 1 wasnât made because I thought it wouldâve been a better death for Cain or anything. Only that I believe it wouldâve fit along with Diabloâs method of breaking his hosts spirits before and/or while he fully possesses them. Nothing more and Nothing less than that.
Oh ok. For me, when I said Hollywood epic death, I was thinking something like dying Cain solo Maghda and forcing dying Maghda to run away and then at the same time deleting 300+ cultists while the player and Leah screaming " UNCLE! CAIN!" from the sideline or something like thatâŚ
Diablo in Diablo 3 is doing fine taking over Leahâs body without having her kill her guardian though. Zero resistance from Leah when we fought Leah-Diablo in Act 4.
Iâm merely basing it off of Shenâs comment of Leahâs spirit being strong enough that it possibly survived Diabloâs possession. That said, itâs not like we actually have to see Diablo struggle due to Leah in-game, as we didnât see that either in Diablo 2, yet Cain believed that Aidan fought against Diablo internally while Diablo fought against the D2 heroes.
Well, I certainly donât get the impression that Diablo is struggling with Aiden as D2 Diablo is pretty much enjoying fighting D2 heroes with his full strength. Again, zero sign of D2 Diablo was holding back against D2 heroes due to Aiden either.
I feel that the NPCs in Diablo should stop underestimating Diabloâs ability to take over his host because so far, Diablo was doing an excellent job of keeping his host in a tab once he got grip on them.
I couldnât agree any more with that if I wanted to. And even if Diablo didnât/couldnât fully possess someone, the person in question would be left in a terrible state (Leoric for example).
no. i think it was one of the cheesiest characters in the original. no personality whatsoever. not that this kind of game has any personality of the plot characters. but the sean connery voice over, yeah, weâve heard it in so many other games.
also-he died.
my guess, THEY think heâs awesome, and theyâll put him as a villain.
much like griswold, which i still like.
True but you still need to give Cain a role of some sort, or heâd start getting uninteresting.
Iâd rather change Tyraelâs role, still missing some of his knowledge after he recovered his sword and trying to figure that out.
IF Adria was speaking the truth :
Cain still didnât do anything about it.
This is story convolution : itâs up to the writers to tell otherwise if it better fits the narrative.
No need for that imo, at least nothing beyond letting Cain act as a historian, as he already did (for example he could tell players about bastion keeps, as well as the barbarians).
Truth be told, there wasnât much that Cain could do.
