World first paragon 20000 reached

Time for a paragon revamp?

I thought Blizz automatically bans players who achieve this mark.

I still can’t see anyone having a 9 to 5 job reaching that point any time sooner. I wonder if anyone would show this as a way of saying “paragon levels are not unlimited or a bad system, because one player reached the maximum”.

I talked about this epic day long ago on the old forums - a mighty Chinese hitting max paragon in D3 and getting interviewed by reporters. I back then concluded he’d start a new account to relive the fun again.

Is this not probable giving how long D3 has been available? Assuming no bots had been used, of course…

It’s a ridiculous amount of time spent playing. I play games more than average, but that time in a single game, nah, I would rather quit gaming entirely.

A bit of history, US region:

GR Level First 4P (Season) First Solo (Season)
100 Jan 2016 (5) May 2016 (6)
110 March 2016 (5) June 2017 (10)
120 June 2016 (6) Oct 2017 (11)
130 Oct 2017 (11) March 2019 (16)
140 Jan 2018 (12) Aug 2019 (17)
150 Feb 2019 (16) Dec 2019 (19)

Of course, doing it off-season is easier, due to sheer amount of paragon. Still, I think the word “bot” requires a new definition.

Why on earth should that warrant a paragon revamp? What is more needed is prevention of cheats.

The bits I liked the most from Wudijo’s video was the casual way he mentioned that this player was earning the amount of XP needed to go from Paragon 0 to 1000, every single hour and that going from 0 to 4000 would take him about 4 days.

That level of paragon practically has no influence for damage. There is no such big difference even between 10K and 20K…

My non-seasonal Barb if it had 10K Paragon - https://maxroll.gg/d3planner/424287834

  • DPS: 69,196,533,698

My non-seasonal Barb if it had 20K Paragon - https://maxroll.gg/d3planner/622750884

  • DPS: 124,121,392,170

Going from 10K to 20K paragon would take it from 69 billion to 124 billion damage.
That’s roughly (1.17)^4 times as much damage, i.e. it’s worth around a 4GR increase.

To add Meteorblade’s point, rather than thinkin paragon levels alone, consider how much you total amount of main stat increases. Your total combined amount of main stat forms one of the largest singular damage multipliers. If you double your main stat, you double your damage.

That’s why the overall relative power gain from the main stat is fairly steep at lower paragon levels but gradually slows down as you gain more paragon.

Still, going from 10k to 20k paragon is quite significant. Like Meteorblade’s example shows, it doesn’t quite double the total amount of main stat but it’s still enough for 4GR increase.

Also, mainstat affects dmg mitigation. While this is often forgotten, it actually might affect dmg output a lot.

It might allow using different build setup. I’m not expert on builds betweem 10k and 20k paragon, but I’ve seen examples this season where 8k paragon can use solo setup which was not realistic for my 4k paragon attempts.
But also it allows standing longer time in middle of mob group and / or keeping shields up longer. I’m quite sure this still affects between paragon 10k and 20k at least in many solo push builds.

Good. At least we finally have a real confirmation that PC D3 Paragon capped at 20k.

Now those haters can’t say they hate D3 because it has infinite progression and growth.

So, does anyone here play 16 hours a day? I know I don’t. I play maybe 2 or 3 most days, and then a few big days I get in 6 or 7. I do not really track this though, maybe I play more than I think or less than I think.

It’s always going to be Chinese player 'cause they have that 10% XP gain that the other regions do not have access to.

In D2 with Ondalls and Anni rolled best can have 15% XP gain, which is a significant gain per run.

They probably should. It would be hilarious.

and that’s fun to play? I mean just playing for months to get that paragon, to just see a progress of 4GR on this beautifull end-game that diablo 3 offer?

And it’s better to not speak about cheats, because it’s obvious…

ROFL. You can’t see even that if you hit the 150. The devs made sure to make the ultimate experiment with D3.

Haha. Seriously, D3 made history. What an epic mess.

I might put in 16 hours total in the first Friday / Saturday / Sunday of a season.
I’m guessing that doesn’t count.

I made no comment what-so-ever about whether that’s fun or not, just gave a facts-based exposition of what a 10K paragon increase does to damage output.

Heck, my non-seasonal Barb has around 4.5K paragon. At the rate I earn XP, I’d need decades to get to 20K, not a couple of years.
