Everything continues to run great since I installed the Windows 11 Preview on my rig.
However, when opening Diablo 3, there is often a long delay on “Retrieving the Heroes List.” This did not happen with Windows 10. Eventually, it opens and the game runs with no problems.
Are other people having this problem, and if so, what operating system are you using?

I have seen this happen a couple times in the past week or so, but its been fine the last couple times I have played. Windows 10 21H1.
This has popped up occasionally over the years, doubt it has anything to do with 11 specifically.

I’m running Windows 11 as well…
I haven’t seen this issue.
Run through and update system drivers. Reinstall the game afterwards if the drivers don’t help.
If you’re still within 10 days of upgrading, you can still roll back, as long as you haven’t ran ‘cleanmgr’ and deleted the previous Windows installation.

Thank you for all the help. I was surprised to learn that in Windows 11, “Windows Update” updates all your drivers. However, the problem has not disappeared. Today they sent me the latest build, and it runs great, but the one problem remains with D3.
Well all I can really say is that Windows 11 is beta, so you have to accept that there may be problems, some of which may not be able to be solved at this point in time.
If you’ve tried all of what I suggested and you’re still within the 10 day time period since installing the Windows 11 beta, you should consider rolling back to 10.
If the 10 day time frame has elapsed and you don’t have a complete image saved of your system drive prior to upgrading, then your only option is a clean installation of Windows 10. Just be sure to back up any of your important data prior to doing so.

when people would learn to not update asap to the last windows version released. you have to wait a couple of weeks or month until everything is somehow stable

Jeetkundo, this is an intelligent, logical, rational, sensible, reasonable post. People like me will ignore it, of course, but it is still an intelligent post.

Windows 10 does this as well, but you can disable it via a setting in gpedit.msc. That way you can install third party drivers and only update those when necessary, and for GPU drivers, can ditch the crippled DCH driver installs and get full blown drivers and unhindered GPU control panels.
W11 is the best OS ever.
W11 i the worst case OS ever.
take one of them and u are fine.
lol, another intelligent post here.

Everything is still playing fine on my 5K win 7 machine
Heros list is kept on a cache file in windows 10 under %ProgramData%-Blizzard Entertainment Folder, usually deleting the folder cures the issue. Now it may be the same in 11 or a diff directory.
I’m running windows 10.
I have that quite often, nearly always, when I log into the Asia server without using the bnet app.
Using my main account and the bnet app, no issues. Other regions, no issues.
Even got a game license error once…
Logging in again “fixed” it.
Please do note, as win11 has not been officially released yet, it is not supported by Blizzard.
Most likely D3 will run fine after official win11 release.
id wait until you are finally forced to install it, which is, what, one year after release? let the other suckers find all the early bugs and issues and whatnot for us late adopters to enjoy.
