Compare it to D3 = rotten.
Can only aim in 8 directions, good luck landing a blow as a ranged toon when the enemies constantly move around like those moronic Dark Lords vampires, and watch your missiles zoom past them as they move to and fro.
Only that a guilty person would immediately assume it was about him.

D3 isn’t even worth putting that kind of work into.
If you want to upgrade another Diablo title, then I plead for Diablo 1 + the add on Hellfire.
Basically, D1 is a very ingenious game and has the best immersion and atmosphere of all Diablo titles, also because it is much more slowed down and therefore much more in the moment. You perceive the game world much better.
So if we’re talking about a polished version, I’d rather pay another twenty for D1 incl. Hellfire than put just one cent into a boring D3 that’s uninteresting to me. Because I could still play that without getting eye problems, but it’s absolutely not motivating.
And I’m sure a massive number of players who turned their backs on D3 after a short time see it the same way.

Also still more rewarding than even loading D3 with its massive core gameplay issues.
I only got it years leter on discount and still feel somewhat disappointed. Compared to D2 which i playedfor years (and now play again), i could only stomach that for a few months before giving up hope it might become interesting with at least one class.
They would need to erase all the existing content of D3 first before thinking about new content. Otherwise it would still be D3, which is the issue with D3.
Oh please. Do you aware that they were able to implemented Kanai cube, armory, new set items, Necro DLC and seasonal theme thru patches? There is nothing needs to be erased here to implement new content. This is not 2000. 
Can’t say the same for the modern $40 remaster with zero contents though that struggling not to delete players’ characters by accidentally or rollback.

I’d argue the only thing that saves D3 is a new mod or just provide modding capabilities… Though not certain it’s kinda the best bet to have perhaps started something… 
, but they won’t cause they probably wand that part of the fanbase to transfer to D:I eventually
It might be more of a case of expanding the fanbase with D:I to get them ready for D4.
For me to care about a new version of D3, it would have to be a reimagining, not a remaster. Part of me likes that idea, giving the game an overall facelift and making it the successor to Diablo 2 many of us wanted, but then I think, why? Just move on to D4 and hope for the best. I guess the only reason to go back and redo D3 for me, would be to right the wrongs D3 committed.
Pretty much this. Personally I like Diablo 3 and still play it, despite it’s faults. But I wouldn’t care for a “remastered” version or even a “remade” version. I’d rather just wait for Diablo 4, and hope that game’s good points greatly outweigh it’s flaws in terms of both quantity and quality; and by doing so surpass it’s predecessors. Yeah I know, it’s naive of me to hope like that, but it is what it is, and it’s not like the disappointment will kill me if the game doesn’t live up to my expectations.

Yeah, I am expecting D4 to not beat out D2 for me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t hope it does. I would love to be wrong and make it my new favorite game, but if not, I have D2R!
D3 would be super easy to mod too. Its mostly just editing tables.
im sure at some point Blizzard will update D3 probably like 2 months after announcing Diablo 7

Cant believe i’m pouring my heart and soul into trying to make Diablo 3 the best game possible, and still there are toxic users here trying to derail and troll this thread. Imagine being so toxic you spend your time trying to ruin Diablo 3 on the D3 forums.
Maybe they should work on Diablo 4 instead?

Forget about a graphical update. I have been playing Diablo 2 for years, I can deal with “out dated” graphics. Give me a freaking offline mode for Diablo 3. I’m so tired of the god damn disconnets. Some of us just don’t have the internet to be constantly online.
EDIT: Also, since when was being a Diablo 2 elitist a thing?
