Why Nerf the Strafe DH?

Couldn’t agree more. I played the Gears set for two seasons. Very much enjoyed it and I don’t think it’s over powered one bit. Thanks for the nice post.

It overpowered compared to other classes and always remember if a class comes close to the necro they give it the nerf hammer

I don’t know if you’ve ever spent any time on Slashdot, but the classic response I have to this is “RTFA”.

In the developer insight article I posted, they have a goal of 130 @5k paragon for non-seasonal play. Seasonal effects are always going to skew the data so they exclude it.

C’mon, man, it’s not that hard to click on a link. Maybe you’d follow the logic then.

Besides there’s always spin to win barb / monk

Was that really necessary? So you exclude one thing? Nowhere does that article suggest they exclude it. When in non-seasonal the botting is equally bad if not worse?
Did you also read the developer’s goals that started just before Nevalistus left on their goals and how they supposedly asses it? Your article link which I have seen before says 5K paragons and the seasonals with the mentioned figures have 5K+ Some of them are in 140 with only 2k so that’s a good indicator for any developer. Somehow I do not think they bypass it as easily as you suggest. I could say regarding scaling to RTFM if I wished to be as harsh but why? That’s just being ugly and unnecessary.

From TFA:

And here are a couple things we specifically avoid when considering overall class balance:

  • Seasonal buffs and their impact on overall power
    • We want to design fun, engaging Seasonal buffs without worrying about how they might impact class balance
      • Data from non-Seasonal players is especially helpful here
    • Some buffs may be better or worse for different classes, but since Season effects are temporary, we’re okay with this

C’mon, dude. It’s necessary because you clearly didn’t read the article. Get your “facts” straight before you have a go at mine.

I personally disagree with the idea of the set needing to be nerfed… it’s the closest I have ever come to managing doing a gr100 on my own… and i have been playing since the game came out…

Well if they ignore seasonal then there is no reason for them to nerf anything is there? That’s not rocket science. While I’m not big on MicroDNA’s table’s and other math wizards on here they do listen to them and their posts both and with scaling, they match.
“Data from non-seasonal is especially helpful here” - Nowhere does it say they ignore seasonal altogether. If they did, then in PTR’s everything completely overpowered and underpowered would never have changed - WW Barb to name just one of many. It’s not rocket science, so yeah, C’mon dude. They use mostly non-seasonal but they do not ignore seasonal when it is over the top. I doubt anyone remembers 270+ people with over 150 in any area and 140 with as little as 2k paragons.

Additionally, it’s another jab in the eye to solo players. This was the only decent solo build out there that was easy to play. But one thing I’ve learned in my 36 years of existence though… if you complain about a nerf… yeah you know the rest. Oh well, it was a good build while it lasted. I’m paragon 2850ish and I so far have only pushed to a 133. While I’m certain I can get to 135/6… I don’t think I’m gonna get much further than you did either powa. So… I don’t see how 15 levels below the max is OP. BTW: for a solo player to get over 3k paragon… requires and INSANE time investment. I can’t see a solo getting to 5000 - 6000 at all… in anyway. Solo is so much worse than group play that it barely stacks up at all… unfortunately, Blizzard does not seem to be concerned and if you think the follower is going to give some sort of parity to group… think again. Unless the follower does SOME sort of damage, you are always going to be relegated to 2nd class citizens in the game. I don’t understand why letting the follower do some modest dmg would break the game? Not that they have to kill 130 grift + elites solo but my goodness… let the dmg scale at least or something. Sheesh. I hope I have not offended anyone as it is not my intention. This has to be said for legal purposes lest I get in trouble with the mods <3 2 them.
