I like n6m4 very much but can’t figure out how is the multishot (MS) version in this season is better than the cluster arrow (CA). Is that I need to constantly position my sentries for the ms version to work effectively? Unlike the CA version which CA from sentries has crazy reaching range. In a cold CA version, it also provides huge crowd control for survivability.
I can see people are performing well with MS in the leaderboard with just causal gearing so I believe MS is in fact very good… but how? I am confused and need some insights. Thank you for your help in advance!
MS has just stronger Items with damage multipliers on it.
You can cube Yang’s and DML for MS but you only have Manticore for CA.
You could cube ofc a COE too for CA but this is still way less compared to the Legendary powers that support MS.
The short answer: because the season theme buff lets you cube Yang’s Recurve and Dead Man’s Legacy at the same time. Without the seasonal theme, you could only pick one or the other (since you need Natalya’s Slayer and Bombardier’s Rucksack too).
More involved answer: read some of dmkt’s posts on the topic since he’s been an advocate of N6M4 Multishot for a long time. He also had some posts on the old forum (now offline) on the subject too.
Here is an old video of his from s16 (with the RoRG bonus enabling CoE). Note: the current season buff is stronger (Yang’s in cube > CoE in cube) than the season 16 buff for the build but it is a lot squishier (lose the Garwulf in cube).
Normally I would say when it come to sentry CA is stronger, but as mentioned with the season buff only for S20 N6M4 is much stronger. Also because of the wide area that MS can cover would be more optimized for area damage, but as we have mentioned only for this season.
Well yes typo…it basically M4 on a MS build instead of CA. But I did try out that build on a ptr prior to S18 I believe. It did ok on a speed build was able to push 90.
Thank you for the reply. I have read more posts and will try to test it out to taste it myself.
