Why fix something that isn't broken?

Blizzard, the only reason Diablo 3 sold as many copies as it did is because of D2. You have the blueprint (D2) in front of you. Just freakin follow it and build on top of it. Stop making all of these God damn drastic changes.

WE WANT D2 NOT D3.

Who is this ā€œweā€ you’re talking about?

D2 was a great game for its time and has some great features but also has a lot of undesirable things too.

D3 doesn’t have any desirable things. All you do is click rocks and slide scroll bars. I’ve played more advanced games on my phone.

I want D4, don’t get me wrong I love D2(currently replaying it) but I don’t want them to just copy paste D2 with better graphics (at least not as D4, but I would like a remaster).

There is a bunch of stuff from D2 that needs to change and I’m not blind to that:

  • Dumb stat system, yes it’s dumb, 90% of builds only use enough str/dex for requirements and the rest goes into vit.
  • Synergies, too much of a map on what is used with what.
  • Potions: I’m fine with health and Mana pots but rejuvs are busted (oh sure 100% health and Mana is a great mechanic).
  • Teleport spam, yeah the best way to play the game is to skip 90% of the content as fast as possible.
  • Limited high level farming options (I’ve done my 1000 hell Baal runs and admit it would be fun if it was different sometimes)

There’s at least one things D3 right, the combat. To be more specific, it’s the fluidity of combat. Many, many other isometric ARPGs feel very stiff compared to D3.

D3 has literally all of these things except potions to fill your resource and the stat system is even more simple than D2’s.

I didn’t say anything about D3 I’m not comparing them, I’m just saying that D2 has a bunch of issues that shouldn’t be brought to D4

Pretty much my point as well. D2 has both good and bad aspects, latter ones should be left out. However the OP seems to suggest that D4 should be carboncopy of D2.

What year did D3 come out? And we are still playing?

They must have done something right. Get a grip.

Yeah like locking to a max of 6 spells with 4 of them long cooldowns during any fight like WoW and being forced to hold left click to generate ressources with left click to spamm on your right click til its gone when your spells are on cd right.
No thank you D3 combat system has no freedom limits the ammount of skill choices.

And you conveniently left out my point about D3’s combat, the fluidity.

A game can be nice looking all you want but i bet on you that people prefer a better combat system rather than the looks of it.

Again, you missed my point completely. I never meant the looks.

Fluidity of the combat. That’s my point.

D3 combat surely ā€œfeelsā€ right but with the cost/sacrifice of skils and ressource management limitations.
Thats what some people dislike about D3 combat system.

And I agree 100%. So why are you trying to twist my point?

Yes, D3’s combat system has limitations and annoying long cooldowns in certain skills. Yet despite all of that the combat is very fluid, very responsive.

Mate, the point is that even if it ā€œfeelsā€ good, the combat process is way too repetitive/monotone, thus somewhat boring.
The attack animations and responses surely do look good in D3, its just that combat mechanics that are lacking.
And this is what you said:

I guess i didnt read the rest of the sentence for reading quick sorry for that.

The covered wagon wasn’t broken, why build the railroad, the car, the interstate highway system.

Don’t worry they can always replicate Magica, Cat Quest and Clicker Heroes with Diablo 3 in Diablo 4 game systems then add more rainbows to call it a day.
Travis Day (D3 RoS) absolutely saved Diablo franchise, otherwise he wouldn’t give speeches and interviews about it, right? I’m sure his latest game Dauntless have a game breaking infinite scaling yardstick scale as well because that’s the epitome of game design and not some lazy repetitiveness.

Don’t speak for me, also D4 should be D4 not D4 clone. If you like D2 so much, go to play D2 now.

Also, your claim that D3 sold many copies just because of D2 is false notion. After a year of D3 launch, pretty much everyone know that D3 is not D2 HD yet people still buy it.

People buy D3 because it is Blizzard game. Even for D3 Switch, it sold 100k+ in 2 days.

Don’t like it when ppl use ā€˜we’,I aint a part of that thanks.

D4 should be D4 imo,a new game and not a copy of the previous games ā€˜that includes both D2 and 3’.
