Why am I lagging so badly?

This is the only game this happens in where I jump all over the place or the entire screen starts skipping frames. Why is this even an issue?

Can’t tell you. There are reasons such as your connection speed or that the other games you play doesn’t consist of tons of mobs/elements/players skills going off at the same time on your screen. Doesn’t help if you playing season with the season 21 theme. Area damage with too many mobs can cause lag as well.

I am rubber banding nonstop on my DH. I can’t even push GRs on it as it just does it nonstop.

GoD? Probably AD lag if so.

I feel like I totally wasted 12 level 126 gems augmenting my DHs gear. If I can’t use AD, this is stupid.

Welcome to an 8 year old game, built on 12 year old technology with several leadership changes and is currently on life support… :grimacing:

Have you ever run a WINMTR to figure it out?
I had horrible lag and disconnects before I dropped WiFi and went hardwire.

I can say that the only time I lag out from it is when it’s 4 players and multiple AD wwrend/GoD builds on larger groups. I am now playing with two wwrend and I’m on wizard with no issues at all. For me it’s just with 3 all AD builds with groups.

Here we go again. Have you tried lowering your settings? I agree this kind of detour way shouldn’t happen when imo it’s more caused by season theme interaction, but for now, between playing the game and unable to play it, I’d say at least try it.

Another thread about LAG. What are you running the game on? Is it a PC or Laptop? How old is the computer you are running it on? I have one friend that runs the game on a older dell computer that he has upgraded many times. All I hear is how much Lag he gets. Plus he has a great internet connection too.

I have two accounts and I’ll run them both at the same time to lvl up characters. The PC runs great and the laptop has lag. So you really have look at everything.

I have another friend that ran it on a Asus gaming Laptop. She to would complain about the battle-net interface not working and having problems with the game. What it was the hard drive she had in the laptop.

The Laptop could run a M.2 NVMe SSD. She was using hard drive that is a 1tb 5400 rpm drive. She installed a M.2 NVMe SSD and all her problems went away.

I think many people confuse lag with framerate. I had a friend of mine that was using a old computer with the fastest most bestestestest internet and still’ lagged’ to hell and back. I HAVE A GREEN BAR WHY AM I LAGGING SO &^$#*$@ MUCH? I PAY BLABLA AMOUNT FOR INTERNET!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE QQ!!!

Then he got ‘gaming’ computer and the problem went away. It’s not a top of the line, water cooled, look mom it has flashy lights, 3,000 dollar computer, but it works. The problem went away and he plays at all of the top graphic settings.

It could be your internet, but it could also be your computer. If you are really unlucky, then it’s both.

Yeap its like RNG - some days i have great runs, other days its terrible, some severs are just not that flash. I try quitting out and logging in again to see if I get a better server. Did you see rhykers vid about certain servers not registering leaderboard clears! Some very helpful people actually found a way to detect bad servers. Imagine getting like a rank 1 GR only to have it not register :frowning:

500mb dl and 20mb ul

30-70ms (more often closer to the 30) latency

I have rubberbanding (soemtims back to back even) lately.

I have nearly a $4k computer built late last year and an awesome internet connection. This is the only game this does it in. I never had these issues in WoW, Grim Dawn, Torchlight 3, Wolcen, etc.

There are others in my clan having the same issues.

I have 2 accounts and help my grand daughter with hers. I have been here from day 1. Yes you do get lag here and there. But I really never get lag. Where I live you would think I would get more lag then most people.

I’m on the east coast PA. To get to the server I have on avg 18 hoops to the server. It can be up to 35 sometimes.

I listen to people all the time about lag. Plus I’m playing just great at the same time. I don’t know what to say because you are running WoW and that is a Battle-net game. As far as I know all the servers are on the west coast.

Rubber banding lag is not related to your personal internet connection or your personal hardware.

Proof of this is when it occurs everyone in the group is affected. Many times the entire group will be dead once the rubber banding has stopped.
People will even start messaging each other during the often 15 to 20 seconds of constant rubber banding.

This is a Blizzard problem end of story.

OK Right. So if this is a Blizzard Problem then why do I really never get it? Plus again if this a Blizzard Problem. Then why do we not 100’s of threads on this flooding the forum?

Plus I have like 6 or 7 people in my clan that are from Brazil. They never complain about the lag. Yes everybody does get lag here and there. Again if it was a Blizzard Problem we all have it and we don’t!!!

You’d think a multi million dollar company like Blizz entertainment would be able to figure this out. They are becoming the new EA.

They have an open PTR working on a fix for this issue right now, actually. Even with the lawyers foaming at the mouth to get to those money banks, they’re still working on an 8-year-old game.
